TERMS AND CONDITIONS TERMS The terms of the sale are cash or cheque. Settlement to be made immediately after completion of the sale, payable at par to Bow Slope Shipping Association. The right of property shall not pass until after settlement is made. All settlements must be made with the clerk before any cattle will be released.

BIDDING Each animal will be sold to the highest bidder. No bybidding will be permitted.

DISPUTES Bidding will be reopened between the parties involved in

the dispute. If no further bid is made, the buyer will be the person from whom the auctioneer accepted the last bid. The auctioneer’s decision on all disputes will be final.

ANNOUNCEMENTS All announcements made from the auction block will take precedence over the printed matter in the catalogue.

Buyers are therefore cautioned to pay attention to such disclosures.

CERTIFICATE OF REGISTRATION Each animal will carry papers

issued by the Canadian Limousin Association. A certificate of registry duly transferred will be furnished to the buyer for each animal after payment has been made.

HEALTH All animals in the sale have met all necessary health requirements.

LIABILITIES All persons attend the sale at their own risk and the seller and sale manager assume no liability, legal or otherwise, for any accidents that occur.

BREEDER’S GUARANTEE The following extracts from the rules and regulations governing this sale be of special interest to those purchasing breeding stock.

“If in the opinion of the buyer an animal proves to be a non breeder, he must notify Bow Slope Shipping Assoc. within two months after the date of the sale. When an animal is proven by a veterinarian to be a non-breeder, the contributor agrees to refund the purchase price in full providing the bull is returned to the contributor in good physical condition, or to supply the purchaser with an animal of approximately equal age, quality and breeding. In either case, the nonbreeding animal is to be returned to the contributor, and the purchaser is responsible for all transportation and veterinary charges incurred. The contributor is not responsible for damage caused by foreign bodies, nor the sickness not apparent at the time of the sale.”

Welcome to our 2021 Sale!

As the COVID pandemic continues, for most of us in agriculture the cycle of the seasons stay the same. For us the biggest change this year is acting as the sale hosts, taking over from our sale partners, Carla and Jaap deJager.

Thank you for all your years of advice and guidance building this event and again bringing a useful set of bulls to make this a successful day for us all.

This year I think you will agree that both our programs have brought a more consistent group of herd bulls. These bulls will sire calves that will be born easily, grow fast and have the style and shape to bring premiums all the way from the sale ring to the rail.

After years of developing our program and sourcing some of the most exciting walking bulls in the Limousin breed, we have decided to sell this year’s offering without reserving any for ourselves. ALL bulls catalogued and passing a breeding exam will be sold to the highest bidder. Many thanks to our past buyers who have supported our previous format and allowed our program to develop to this level.

With COVID restrictions so unpredictable we have added the DLMS online option to our sales team at Bow Slope. Videos will be up mid February for your appraisal. We also encourage you to visit our farm to sort your selections at your leisure. The bulls will be available for viewing Monday afternoon and evening at the market in Brooks and will be in the barn by 10 a.m. on sale day.

While we hope the restrictions will allow you to come to our sale in person, the other options are to contact the capable staff at Bow Slope or bid online through DLMS. Looking forward to seeing you on March 9 at Bow Slope Shipping in Brooks.

B Bar Slate 17C We invested in Slate in order to moderate birthweights, improve udder quality and advance overall soundness while maintaining the disposition and true Limousin character that our cattle have been noted for. It has been satisfying to walk this big time herd bull and see him deliver on so many of the counts. He is easy to handle, holds his condition well and has serviced up to 30 cows on our hard grass pastures.

Tref Zipper 644Z The Treft bull has become somewhat of a journey man at our ranch.

He continues to produce stout, sound, highly fertile offspring. A herd bull that has never been near a trim table and stamps his bull calves with true Limousin character.

B Bar / Hawkeye Oscar 1E ET HWK 1E was added to our bull battery in order to include the noted genetics of Richmond Zodiac SRD 29Z and B Bar Foxtrot 21B. Beyond having flush mates that are National Champions, Oscar has successfully kept docility and easy fleshing ability in his progeny. He has exceptional muscle shape and a strong structure.

His first daughter to sell made the top end of the Western Select selling at $9 500 to Matthew Heleniak of Hawkeye Land and Cattle/ Norwich Packers of Ontario. Oscar is a valued breeding bull in our program and that of our partner Conners Brothers of Hanna.

Thank you to the Andrew family as they take over the bull sale, changing direction as the pandemic has forced many industries to find a new way of doing business. After a challenging year of Covid shutting everything down right after last years bull sale, we are facing a whole new way of doing business in 2021. From zoom meetings and online auctions, we are all being tested on our tech savvy. The new normal will be a bit of a learning curve for us, but we remain excited about the upcoming bull sale with the Andrew families.

We truly hope our customers will feel comfortable with the situation we are in at the moment, and please know that you are more than welcome to come and view the bulls at the ranch anytime prior to the sale. We really appreciate the continued support from folks that remain committed to our bull breeding program.

We will have on offer a mixture of 12 red and 4 black bulls that are well balanced and are a very even group this year. We had plenty of feed in our area so the bulls came home in good shape and we have continued to work with their rations so they will remain in great shape for the sale.

We’d like to thank Lorne Bodell for clipping, Lydia Goodbrand, Tim Andrew and Lorne Bodell for picturing and videoing the bulls for the catalogue and the sale. The bulls are all semen tested and health checked by the vet, and will be ready to go to work for you in your breeding program.
