Canada Day is celebrated on July 1 each year and commemorates the creation of Canada through the British North America Act, which came into effect on July 1, 1867.

This act united the provinces of Ontario, Quebec, Nova Scotia, and New Brunswick into one country called Canada. Originally known as Dominion Day, the holiday was officially renamed Canada Day in 1982. Today, Canadians celebrate their nation's history, culture, and achievements with festivals, parades, concerts, and fireworks.
