Pride is a celebration of the LGBTQ+ community focused on love, identity, inclusion, and self-expression. Throughout June, Toronto hosts events that celebrate diversity, community, and acceptance acrossthecity.

Expect parades, live performances, music, dancing, food vendors, community booths, drag shows, and thousands of people celebrating together throughout downtown Toronto. Pride weekend is one of the city’s biggest and most vibrant eventsofthesummer.

iEvery June, Canada recognizes National Indigenous History Month as a time to honour and celebrate the rich histories, cultures, traditions, and contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples.

It’s also an opportunity to learn more about Indigenous communities, voices, and experiences and to reflect on the importance of truth, reconciliation, and Indigenous leadership across Canada. Indigenous Peoples have cared for and lived on these lands since time immemorial, and their stories, knowledge, art, and traditions continue to shape communities across the country today.

A free community Pow Wow celebrating National Indigenous Peoples Day featuring traditional drumming, dancing, singing, craft vendors, food vendors, and community booths. Open to everyone.

Did you know one of Toronto’s oldest botanical gardens is right next door?
Allan Gardens Conservatory has been a part of the downtown community for over a century and continues to provide an accessible green space for education, conservation, and connection.

Living downtown doesn’t mean being disconnected from nature and Allan Gardens is the perfect
example of that.

Urban green spaces like Allan Gardens play an important role in building more sustainable cities by:
Supporting plant biodiversity
Improving local air quality
Reducing urban heat
Promoting wellness and mental wellbeing
Creating natural spaces within busy city environments
