to the our New Generation Female Sale. Mar Mac Farms is proud to be a 5th Generation Family Farm, breeding Angus Cattle for 68 years and Simmental Cattle for 47 years. What a great time to be in the livestock industry. As I sit down to write this welcome the calf market is experiencing new highs and cull cows and bulls are worth more than ever before. After this fall there should not be a bad uddered or bad footed cow in the country. Two years ago we dispersed our Black Angus cow herd to reduce our work load. This spring at breeding time we discovered that we were breeding very close to the same number of females. It was then that we decided that we would offer our entire pen of bred heifers this fall with nothing held back. You will find females in this sale that represent cow families that have been very influential in our program. You will see a few choice lots where the buyer will have their choice and we will keep the other one to keep those cow families going. Our goal is to produce predictable, functional cattle that work in the real world. We do not pamper the cows. They graze on corn and hay till January; then are expected to calve on their own and rebred while being fed a silage TMR Ration. Our cowherd is culled annually on feet and legs, performance, disposition, and fertility. If they do not measure up they are sold. We choose our herd sires based on performance, ease of fleshing, docility and structural soundness. Our bloodlines have been well represented in many breeding programs. An added feature is groups of Commercial Red and Black females bred to calving ease bulls. Check all the lots out on video in early December. This year’s sale is a Farm Gate Timed Auction to help reduce our workload. Stop in any time to view the offering or join us at our open house Dec 12-14 from 10 am to 6 pm. If you would like to come any other time just give us a call, we love to show people our cattle. HERD HEALTH: Mar Mac is an Express Verified Herd. At weaning all the calves get Pyrimid 5 presonse and Blackleg Vaccine. Before breeding out herd is vaccinated with Express 5. All heifers have had Ivomec and first shot of Scour Bos 4 All the purebred heifers have been DNA tested and purchasers will be supplied with a registration paper after payment has been received.
INSURANCE: As soon as the animal is sold, it is your risk as the buyer of that animal. Insurance will be available by Keystone Livestock Services (Lois McRae) 204-728-3058 or 204-573-5192 BREEDERS GUARANTEE: All serviceable females have been pregnancy tested by an accredited veterinarian giving the estimated length of gestation. As we used calving ease sires, they are usually short gestation so watch your females closely.
DELIVERY: Mar Mac Farms will help each purchaser with arranging delivery on their purchase as soon as possible after the sale once payment has been made. As these are bred heifers to calve early in 2024, we would like them to leave with in a week after the sale and before the holidays.
