the tools to excel, demonstrating that true leadership lies in the ability to uplift others. Her journey is a reflection of confidence, intelligence, persistence, and integrity, qualities that have propelled her forward and continue to shape her path as a visionary in real estate.
Mandeep’s family is the cradle of existence, the sacred space where souls are nurtured, and the foundation upon which the human experience is built. It is not merely a collection of individuals bound by blood; rather, it is a sanctuary of love, understanding, and shared purpose. The essence of her family transcends biological ties, encompassing the intricate web of relationships that sustain, support, and define the family. Within this sacred unit, each member—husband, wife, children, and extended relatives—plays a pivotal role, offering contributions that weave the intricate fabric of their shared existence.
Her husband embodies both strength and tenderness. He is the foundation upon which the house is built, not merely in the physical sense but in the emotional and moral dimensions as well. As a protector, he provides security; as a guide, he offers wisdom; and as a partner, he shares in the burdens and triumphs of the family. He is often tasked with ensuring stability, both financially and emotionally, anchoring the family in times of hardship and celebrating in moments of joy.
Mandeep’s husband’s role is not defined solely by duty but by love—a love that manifests in the silent sacrifices made for the wellbeing of his spouse and children. He labors not only for sustenance but for the dreams of his family, carving pathways for future generations. His guidance is like the roots of an ancient tree, unseen yet indispensable, ensuring that the family stands firm amidst the tempests of life.
As a wife Mandeep brings warmth, care, and a depth of understanding that transforms a house into a home. Her strength is often quiet, unseen in grand gestures but deeply felt in the smallest acts of love. She is the

harmonizer, balancing the needs of each family member while often placing her own aspirations second to the well-being of those she loves. Her contribution is immeasurable, not only in the nurturing of children but in the wisdom and counsel she provides to her spouse. She is the light in moments of darkness, the gentle yet firm force that binds the family with resilience. Through
her, love is exemplified, patience is practiced, and the family finds its moral compass. She embodies selflessness, a silent warrior whose sacrifices shape the very fabric of the household.
Mandeep’s Parents, Brother, and Sisters, form an unbroken chain that links generations. They serve as custodians of heritage, bearers of stories, and guardians of the family’s collective wisdom. Grandparents offer the invaluable gift of perspective, providing counsel rooted in decades of experience. They are living history books, carrying the essence of traditions and the resilience of time.
Uncles and aunts serve as additional pillars of guidance, often offering insights and support from a place of both familiarity and impartiality. Cousins become companions in the journey of life, embodying the beauty of shared roots and common destinies. The extended family is a fortress, a safety net woven from countless bonds of love and mutual care.
In the structured world of real estate, where negotiations, contracts, and market trends dictate the rhythm of the day, an alternate form of creative exploration provides an escape. Beyond the analytical nature of her profession, she immerses herself in a domain where expression flows unencumbered, allowing for the refinement of intuition and a deep engagement with the self. This pursuit is not merely a pastime but an essential counterpart to the precision demanded by her career—a gateway to introspection, innovation, and the quietude of an untethered mind.
To her, this practice serves as a meditation. Every engagement with it is an act of presence, a deliberate shift from the external to the internal. Just as a home requires a solid foundation to withstand the passage of time, so too does the mind require moments of stillness to cultivate clarity. In an environment driven by external pressures and rapid decision-making,
this alternate pursuit becomes a sanctuary where time dissolves, and consciousness expands.
Expression, she believes, transcends language. It is an articulation of thought and sentiment, unfixed to rigid structures or spoken words. As homes reflect the lives and histories of those who inhabit them, so too does this practice serve as a manifestation of personal evolution. When verbal articulation proves insufficient, she turns to a medium that channels what exists beyond the constraints of linguistic convention, crafting a narrative of experience and imagination.
In this dual existence, she finds equilibrium. While real estate demands structure, logic, and external engagement, her creative endeavors provide an inward journey—an acceptance of imperfection, a celebration of spontaneity, and a willingness to explore the unknown. One world grants her stability, the other boundless exploration. It is within this interplay that she thrives, crafting not only spaces for others but also a richly textured existence defined by insight, imagination, and the unending pursuit of meaning.
The land of India, ancient and unbroken, is a tapestry woven with the golden threads of spiritual inquiry. Its rivers do not merely carve the earth but carry whispers of sages, the echoes of meditation, and the unbroken hum of the cosmos. Here, where the sacred Ganges meets the sky, where the Himalayas stand as the silent witnesses to millennia of seeking, and where the Upanishads dared to ask, «Who am I?»—spiritual evolution is not a mere idea but the very breath of existence.
Mandeep stands amidst this grand continuum, neither dismissing nor imprisoning tradition, but seeing it as the necessary scaffolding from which the soul must rise. She does not believe in spirituality as a relic of the past, entombed in rituals without life, nor as a reckless negation of the wisdom carried through generations. Rather, she envisions it as an ever-unfolding science of the soul, one that
demands not only reverence but also renewal.
For Mandeep, traditional beliefs are the roots that anchor the human spirit. They provide stability, nourishment, and a sense of belonging. They are the chants that once echoed through temple halls and forest retreats, the voices of saints and seekers who spoke of unity beyond name and form. But tradition, like a river, must move; it must not become a stagnant pool lest it cease to nourish those who drink from it. She sees the great philosophies of the past not as fixed doctrines but as luminous beacons guiding the restless mind toward ever-greater clarity.
To grow spiritually, she believes, is to embrace the dynamic interplay between discipline and freedom. The soul is not meant to be caged in the dogmas of yesterday, nor to drift aimlessly in the currents of fleeting trends. True spirituality, in her view, is a science—one that transcends blind faith, seeking instead the direct experience of higher consciousness. And as any science must, it must evolve, refine itself, and adapt to the expanding awareness of humankind.
India has long been a crucible for such evolution. It is the land where the Vedas spoke in riddles of creation, where the Buddha walked in silent understanding, and where Advaita whispered of the undivided self. But this sacred ground does not belong to one epoch or one lineage alone—it belongs to all who seek, all who question, and all who dare to uncover the infinite within.
Mandeep’s vision of spirituality is one where knowledge and intuition dance together, where the mind is not a rival of the heart but its ally. She does not see the modern world as an enemy of the sacred but as its latest stage—a place where the scientific method and the inner quest must shake hands rather than stand apart. The tools of reason, technology, and global discourse must not replace spirituality but refine it, sharpen its inquiry, and expand its reach.
And so, she speaks of a spirituality that is alive, breathing in the rhythms of an awakening humanity.
imposed beliefs. She sees it as an unfolding lotus—each petal a realization, each unfolding a step closer to the boundless essence of the self.
Mandeep’s voice carries the echoes of the past and the whisper of the future. She is not bound by yesterday, nor lost in tomorrow; she stands in the ever-present now, where the ancient and the evolving meet in an unbroken flow. And in this flow, she invites all who seek to drink deeply—to quench not just the thirst of faith, but the hunger for understanding, for truth, and for the infinite horizon of the spirit.
At the heart of Mandeep’s political philosophy is the conviction that governance must be rooted in moral integrity. Leaders, regardless of their party affiliation, should not be beholden to ideology for its own sake but to the greater purpose of advancing a society that values equity, truth, and the protection of the most vulnerable. To her, the function of politics is not to divide, but to unify through a commitment to justice that does not waver in the face of expediency.
She asserts that democracy is not merely the rule of the majority but the protection of the minority. True democratic governance should safeguard individual liberties, ensuring that policies are not dictated solely by numerical supremacy but by the ethical imperative to protect all members of society. For Mandeep, freedom is not simply the absence of constraint; it is the presence of opportunity. A government’s legitimacy stems from its ability to create conditions where people are free to pursue fulfillment without the weight of systemic oppression or economic deprivation.
Mandeep holds that political power, by its very nature, must be exercised with humility. A just government is one that does not wield authority for the sake of dominance but rather administers power as a sacred trust. This necessitates transparency, accountability, and a willingness to admit error. Leaders must be custodians, not rulers, facilitators, not arbiters.
She is particularly concerned with the modern tendency for politics to devolve into tribalism, where allegiance to party supersedes allegiance to truth. The moral bankruptcy of such an approach is
evident when leaders bend principles to fit political convenience rather than shaping politics around enduring values. Mandeep insists that a functioning democracy requires not blind loyalty but critical thought—a citizenry engaged in reasoned discourse rather than reactionary division.
Economically, Mandeep believes that a just society must balance prosperity with fairness. A system that fosters innovation and economic growth must not do so at the cost of human dignity. Policies should ensure that no one is left behind, that wealth does not become an instrument of oppression, and that the economy serves the people rather than the reverse. Market forces, while powerful, should be tempered by ethical considerations that prevent exploitation and ensure the wellbeing of all citizens.
In the dynamic world of real estate, where transactions often focus on numbers and properties, true leadership transcends mere business dealings. Mandeep, a distinguished real estate agent and managing broker, is more than a facilitator of sales—she is a mentor, a strategist, and an architect of professional growth. Her career is built not just on closing deals but on shaping futures, guiding aspiring real estate professionals with wisdom, creativity, and an unwavering commitment to excellence.
Mandeep’s approach to mentorship goes beyond standard training and guidance; it is a philosophy rooted in empowerment and education. She understands that success in real estate is not just about mastering market trends but about cultivating a mindset of resilience, strategic thinking, and continuous learning. Her ability to connect with mentees on a personal level, to anticipate their challenges, and to offer tailored advice sets her apart as a trusted leader in an ever-changing market.
As a managing broker, Mandeep’s influence extends beyond her own

success. She nurtures a culture of learning and growth among her team, instilling in them the principles of integrity, client-centered service, and innovative thinking. She is a mentor who fosters resilience, inspiring agents to view challenges not as roadblocks but as opportunities for professional and personal development.
In a competitive industry, creativity is often the defining factor between ordinary and exceptional. Mandeep harnesses innovative coaching strategies, digital platforms, and real-world scenarios to equip her mentees with the skills they need to thrive. She recognizes that effective mentorship involves more than technical knowledge—it requires the ability to inspire, to instill confidence, and to create a vision for success.
Her ability to see beyond conventional training methods allows
her to create opportunities where others see limitations. Whether leveraging emerging technologies, exploring unconventional problemsolving techniques, or pioneering new mentoring frameworks, Mandeep continuously pushes the envelope of what is possible in real estate education.
What truly sets Mandeep apart is her deep emotional intelligence. Real estate is, at its core, a peopledriven business, and Mandeep understands the profound impact that strong mentorship can have on an individual’s career trajectory. Her empathetic nature allows her to guide her mentees through complex situations with sensitivity and grace, ensuring that they feel heard, valued, and supported at every stage.
She also excels at coaching her team in the art of emotional intelligence—helping them cultivate meaningful relationships, manage high-stakes negotiations with diplomacy, and approach each client with a personalized touch. Her leadership fosters an environment where professionalism meets genuine human connection.
Mandeep’s career is not measured solely by the number of properties she has sold but by the careers she has shaped. Her legacy is woven into the success stories of new agents who have flourished under her mentorship, professionals who have grown into industry leaders, and a real estate community enriched by her commitment to excellence.
In an industry that often prioritizes speed and efficiency, Mandeep stands as a beacon of thoughtful, ethical, and visionary mentorship. She exemplifies the rare combination of business acumen, creative ingenuity, and heartfelt guidance—qualities that elevate her from a successful broker to an industry trailblazer. For those fortunate enough to be mentored by Mandeep, real estate is not just about transactions—it is about transformation. And in her capable hands, every lesson is a step toward building a better future for her mentees, her colleagues, and the industry.
Mandeep is an inspiration to the industry, loved and appreciated by all.
Every year, around the world we celebrate Vaisakhi, a significant festival that marks the beginning of the solar New Year and the harvest season, as well as commemorating the formation of the Khalsa Panth in 1699 by Guru Gobind Singh Ji, the tenth Sikh Guru. This vibrant festival, celebrated with great fervor and enthusiasm, is an occasion for Sikhs to reflect on their faith, heritage, and community while also sharing their traditions with others.
Originating in the Punjab region of India, Vaisakhi traditionally signifies the harvest of crops and the onset of spring. It is a time for farmers to thank God for the abundance of their harvest. However, Vaisakhi holds deeper religious significance. On this day in 1699, Guru Gobind Singh Ji called upon the Sikhs to gather at Anandpur Sahib. Here, he initiated the first five Sikhs, known as the Panj Pyare or the ‘Beloved Five,’ into the Khalsa, a collective of initiated Sikhs who adhere to a strict moral and ethical code, embodying courage and integrity.
The establishment of the Khalsa marked a pivotal moment in Sikh history, empowering the community to stand against oppression and injustice. The Khalsa, with its distinctive identity and values of equality, selflessness, and communal service, continues to shape Sikh beliefs and practices today.
Communities worldwide celebrate Vaisakhi through vibrant
parades known as Nagar Kirtans, where Sikhs gather to sing hymns, chant prayers, and partake in processions that showcase the rich culture and spirituality of Sikhism. Major cities like Amritsar, London, Toronto, Surrey and San Francisco witness massive gatherings that attract thousands of participants and spectators alike.
The Golden Temple in Amritsar, one of Sikhism›s holiest sites, is adorned with decorations during this auspicious time. Pilgrims from all over visit to partake in the celebrations, offer prayers, and experience the serene beauty of the temple surrounded by the Amrit Sarovar, or Pool of Nectar. The entire atmosphere resonates with spiritual energy, drawing individuals into a collective celebration of their faith. In addition to the processions, Sikhs engage in joyful community festivities, including music, dance, and traditional food. Langar, a communal meal served to all, regardless of background or status, is a hallmark of Vaisakhi celebrations, embodying the Sikh principles of equality and selfless service.
Apart from the joyous celebrations, Vaisakhi serves as an opportunity for reflection and renewed commitment to Sikh ideals. Many Sikhs take this time to reconnect with their spiritual roots, engage in prayer, and reflect
on the teachings of the Guru Granth Sahib, the holy scripture of Sikhism. The messages of peace, equality, and social justice are particularly poignantly regarded during this time as Sikh communities reflect on their role in the contemporary world.
As the world continues to navigate the complexities of the modern era, Vaisakhi stands as a beacon of hope, resilience, and unity for Sikhs everywhere. It emphasizes the importance of community, compassion, and collective strength in addressing contemporary challenges. The festival inspires future generations to embrace their heritage while advocating for kindness and justice.
In the words of Guru Gobind Singh Ji, «Recognize the divine light in all.» As families come together to celebrate Vaisakhi, this message resonates profoundly, urging individuals to appreciate their shared humanity and work towards a harmonious society.
As Vaisakhi is celebrated around the world, it reinforces the essence of Sikhism—seeking spiritual growth, serving humanity, and building a just society. It reminds Sikhs and others alike that amidst diversity, faith has the power to unite, inspire change, and foster a sense of belonging.

This year, Swaraj Radio 96.1FM celebrates 25 years of groundbreaking broadcasting, and at the center of this milestone is Bali K. Deol, affectionately known as Lady B. A trailblazer in every sense, Lady B pioneered the first Punjabi-language radio show on FM airwaves in Canada, forever changing the media landscape for British Columbia›s Punjabi community. Before Swaraj Radio, Punjabi programming was limited to low-power AM frequencies, often requiring makeshift “chip radios” to tune in. Lady B’s vision and determination brought Punjabi voices to the mainstream, making Swaraj Radio the first Punjabi show you could hear in your car across BC - a revolutionary moment for the community.
When Lady B launched Swaraj Radio in 2000, she built a cultural institution. For the first time, Punjabi music, literature, and current events were broadcast on FM radio, reaching a wider audience with crystal-clear sound quality. This was a gamechanger for a community that had long relied on fragmented, hard-to-access programming. Swaraj Radio became a daily ritual for thousands, offering a mix of music, interviews, and discussions that celebrated Punjabi culture while addressing the unique experiences of Canadian Punjabis. Lady B’s journey to becoming a radio icon was anything but easy. As a young woman in a male-dominated industry, she faced countless challenges, yet, her passion for Punjabi culture and her commitment to her community propelled her forward. She taught herself to read, write, and speak Punjabi fluently, deepening her connection to her roots. Her charisma, combined with her thoughtful curation of content, quickly made Swaraj Radio a must-listen program that dominated the airwaves in that time slot. What set Lady B apart was her ability to blend tradition with modernity. She introduced second and third-generation Punjabis to the richness of their heritage while creating a space for hybrid identities to thrive. Her interviews with legendary figures like Fauja Singh, Gurdas Mann, and Babbu Maan and Diljit became iconic, drawing listeners from across the globe. Her show wasn›t just entertainment; it was a platform for cultural preservation, social justice, and community building. Lady B’s impact extended far beyond the airwaves. She fearlessly used her platform challenging the status quo in an industry often dominated by men. Her tenacity, courage and authenticity made her a role model for women in media. Today, as Swaraj Radio celebrates 25 years, Lady B’s legacy is undeniable. She didn’t just create Canada’s first FM Punjabi radio show; she gave a voice to a community, fostering pride and connection among generations of Punjabis. Her show remains a cornerstone of Punjabi culture in BC, blending soulful music with meaningful conversations that inspire and uplift. Lady B’s story is one of resilience, passion, and pioneering spirit. She turned a dream into reality, proving that one voice can transform an entire community. As Swaraj Radio continues to thrive, Lady B’s vision of free expression and cultural celebration lives on, ensuring her place in history as the Queen of Punjabi Radio, Here’s to 25 years of Swaraj Radio and to the woman who made it all possible.

Jasmine Singh moved to Canada in 2019 from Chandigarh, where she worked as a senior copy editor and correspondent at The Tribune. Prior to that, she had worked at Hindustan Times as a senior copy editor, writing extensively across various subjects. From print media to broadcasting, it was quite a shift for this Gurdaspurborn, Chandigarh-bred journalist. “At The Tribune, I wrote about entertainment, social issues, politics, book and movie reviews,
gadget insights, and property stories. One of the most thrilling experiences was covering political stories—especially my piece on pesticides in Punjab. It had such an impact that the government banned certain pesticides for a month!”
She was interviewed by the Global Desi Podcast channel about her time in Canada, which received lakhs of views. In addition, she recently moderated the book launch of the popular Punjabi lyricist, Gill Raunta. “Hello! Main Lahore to Bolda.”
Jasmine’s journey in journalism spans high-profile interviews with celebrities such as Shah Rukh Khan, Diljit Dosanjh, Salman Khan, late Irrfan Khan, Alia Bhatt along with top political figures she’s interviewed along the way. She also loves losing herself in the works of Khalil Gibran, Gabriel García Márquez, and Mohammad Hanif’s, Elif Shafk, Franz Kafka, Fyodor Dostoevsky, Ruskin Bond, Anita Desai & many more.
Jasmine credits her journey in broadcasting to two key figures—Tejinder Singh, co-owner and Director Strategy & Operations at Connect Media Network, and Jagjiwan Mann, Owner and co-founder of the network. “Tejinder bhaji has guided me every step of the way. He led by example and made everything feel simpler. He’s a true master of all trades—your best colleague, a boss who knows how to get work done, and someone you can rely on anytime.” As
for Jagjiwan Mann, “He’s a man who knows the world of business and politics more than political and economic analysts. He is the one who offered me space in this incredible organization. Plus, his smile could light up any room!”
The support
Jasmine also feels deeply connected to a circle of friends who’ve helped shape her Canadian chapter. She mentions individuals like Kiran Mann (Chairperson, Connect media network), Baljeet Kaur (Digital media producer), Vijay Saini (Host- Sver wala show) , Vasu Kumar (Host-Shaam wala show), Jaspreet Kaur, Darshdeep Singh, Dr Amarjit Bhullar, Amanjot Kaur, Manit Singh, Baljinder Rai, Aditi Rana, Amandeep Singh, Puneet Goyal, calling them the “different rhythms” of her life—much like her show, Bollywood Chartbusters.
Home is where heart is...
Based in Surrey, Jasmine enjoys the support of her sister Rasmeet Grewal, brother-in-law Jashan Grewal, and niece and nephew Yashvir and Anahat Grewal, who live in Delta, British Columbia.
But above all, she credits her parents, Surinder Kaur and Sardul Singh, as her “guardian angels.” Their support and love have been the driving force behind her journey. They’ve always supported me in pursuing everything I’ve ever wanted, whether it’s investigative journalism stories, the Raid- De- Himalaya motor rally, solo travel, or even making mistakes in understanding people. They’ve had my back, and that means the world to me.
The Genesis of Bill C-376
Sukh Dhaliwal introduced Bill C-376 in the House of Commons on October 19, 2017, aiming to recognize and celebrate the rich history and contributions of Sikh Canadians. The bill sought to provide an opportunity for all Canadians to reflect upon and educate themselves about Sikh heritage annually.
The bill’s progression through Parliament was marked by unanimous support across party lines:
First Reading: October 19, 2017
Second Reading: October 4, 2018
Committee Consideration: October 24, 2018
Third Reading in the House of Commons: November 7, 2018
Senate Approval: April 11, 2019
Royal Assent: April 30, 2019
Throughout these stages, members from various political backgrounds expressed their support, underscoring the importance of acknowledging Sikh Canadians’ role in shaping the nation’s social, economic, political, and cultural fabric.
April holds profound importance in Sikh culture, primarily due to the celebration of Vaisakhi. This festival marks the birth of the Khalsa in 1699 and is a time of reflection on the values of equality, community service, and social justice. By aligning Sikh Heritage Month with April, the legislation honors these traditions and provides a platform for broader public education and celebration.
The establishment of Sikh Heritage Month has had a resonant impact
both within the Sikh community and across Canada. It has fostered greater awareness of Sikh history, arts, and culture, and has encouraged dialogues about diversity and inclusion. Events such as exhibitions, educational workshops, and cultural performances have become integral to the month-long celebrations, enriching Canada’s multicultural landscape.
Milestone
The passage of Bill C-376 stands as a testament to Canada’s commitment to multiculturalism and the recognition of diverse communities that contribute to its identity.
As Sukh Dhaliwal articulated, the designation of April as Sikh Heritage Month ensures that “the contributions and history of Sikh Canadians are recognized annually across Canada,” fostering a more inclusive and informed society.
In essence, Sikh Heritage Month not only celebrates the legacy of Sikh Canadians but also reinforces the values of diversity, acceptance, and unity that are foundational to the Canadian ethos.
