Canada Cartage Acquires Walmart Canada’s Fleet Business, Strengthening Fleet Outsourcing Network

We’re excited to share that Canada Cartage has officially acquired Walmart Fleet ULC, the transportation division of Walmart Canada, with the deal closing at the end of March 2025.

This strategic acquisition marks a significant step forward for Canada Cartage, enhancing its position as the country’s leading provider of outsourced fleet services. The addition of Walmart’s fleet—previously responsible for servicing over 400 Walmart locations nationwide—brings new talent, expanded capacity, and greater network efficiency to the Canada Cartage team.

“We’re proud to welcome Walmart Fleet employees into the Canada Cartage family,” said Scott Lane, President of Canada Cartage. “This acquisition supports our long-term growth strategy and allows us to deliver even more value to our customers across the country.”

Walmart Canada selected Canada Cartage to take over its fleet operations as part of its broader focus on expanding retail locations and supply chain capabilities nationwide. By partnering with a trusted logistics provider, Walmart Canada can sharpen its focus on delivering value and convenience to Canadian shoppers.

“This decision aligns with our future growth ambitions,” said Matt Kelly, Vice President of Supply Chain at Walmart Canada. “We’re confident that fleet employees will thrive under Canada Cartage’s leadership and culture.”

Canada Cartage will operate the fleet as a dedicated service, ensuring a seamless transition and continued high-quality transportation support for Walmart Canada.

This acquisition reinforces the commitment of both companies to long-term success in Canada’s evolving logistics landscape.
