We're proud to share that Canada Cartage will once again be riding strong in support of The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation Ride, taking place June 13 and 14.
This powerful 200 km journey brings together thousands of riders committed to advancing cancer research — and we're thrilled to have five incredible employee riders representing Team Canada Cartage:

Kaeser's Stores Ltd , a division of Sobeys Inc , in Fort Smith, Northwest Territories, recently recognized long-time Canada Cartage drivers Todd Bolton and Ken Palmer with a special shout-out. Todd and Ken have been delivering to these locations for 20 years and are considered part of the family.
With current highway weight restrictions in the area, the store created a flyer reminding customers to keep orders smaller to help ensure deliveries continue without interruption. The flyer also recognized Todd and Ken as dedicated drivers who are always on time and greatly appreciated, calling them "The Greatest”

We rely on Canada Cartage to help service several very important customers, and Steph regularly goes above and beyond to accommodate our requests. SUN PROTECTION
Sun safety matters at work, not just at the beach Working outdoors can expose you to harmful UV rays, increasing your risk of sunburn, heat stress, and skin cancer.
Stay safe this summer by following these tips:
Try to avoid direct sun between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.
Wear lightweight long sleeves, a wide-brimmed hat, and and UV-protective sunglasses
Use SPF 30+ sunscreen on exposed skin.
Reapply sunscreen every 2 hours or after heavy sweating.
Check the daily UV Index to know when extra protection is needed. Take breaks in the shade whenever possible.
Protect yourself and enjoy a safe summer outdoors.
GET CONNECTED AI-POWERED SCAMS
Cybercriminals are using artificial intelligence (AI) to make scams more convincing than ever One of the fastest-growing threats in 2026 is "AI phishing," in which scammers create realistic emails, text messages, voice calls, or even fake video meetings to trick people into sharing passwords, banking information, or company data.
A growing trend is called "quishing" phishing using QR codes. Instead of clicking a suspicious link, victims scan a QR code that
sends them to a fake login page or a malicious website. Microsoft recently reported a major increase in these attacks because QR codes can bypass traditional email security tools.
Scammers are also using AI voice-cloning tools to impersonate managers, coworkers, or family members. These fake calls often create a sense of urgency, often requesting gift cards, payroll updates, or wire transfers.
Here are a few simple ways to stay safe:
Never rush because of an "urgent" message.
Verify requests using a second method, such as a phone call. Be cautious when scanning QR codes from emails or posters. Double-check email addresses and website links carefully. Report suspicious messages to IT immediately.
Remember: if something feels unusual, pause and verify before clicking, scanning, or responding A few extra seconds can prevent a major security incident
WELLNESS CORNER STROKE AWARENESS: WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
Every minute counts when it comes to strokes: a stroke happens when blood flow to the brain is suddenly interrupted, either by a blood clot blocking a vessel or by a blood vessel bursting. Without oxygen and nutrients, brain cells begin to die within minutes, which can affect speech, movement, memory, and other body functions.
Recognizing a Stroke: Think FAST
The FAST acronym highlights the most common warning signs of a stroke:
Face drooping
Arm weakness
Speech Difficulty
Time to call 9-1-1
Other possible symptoms can include sudden vision changes, severe headache, numbness on one side of the body, dizziness, or loss of balance.
Even if only one symptom appears, call 9-1-1 immediately. Fast medical attention can save lives and reduce long-term damage
Reducing Your Risk
Many strokes can be prevented through healthy lifestyle choices. Eating a balanced diet rich in fibre, lean protein, fruits, vegetables, and whole grains can help support heart and brain health. Limiting processed foods, excess sodium, and added sugars may also help lower blood pressure and reduce stroke risk.
Regular physical activity, maintaining a healthy weight, avoiding tobacco use, and managing stress are all important steps toward prevention. Healthy habits today can make a lasting difference for your future health.
