This year, the Hay Lakes Multi 4-H Club launched its first beef project to make participation easier and more accessible for members in the region. This initiative aims to ensure the Club’s continued membership and active engagement. Currently, the project has eight members, who have recently completed their mini show, and are now preparing for the upcoming Camrose and District Show and Sale in Bashaw, that will take place on June 1 and 2. Members from Camrose region will show and sell 71 steers at this two-day event. While the Hay Lakes members are familiar with beef projects, this is their first chance to participate right in Hay Lakes, and to celebrate the efforts of all Multi 4-H Club members. An Achievement Day is scheduled for May 23, at 10 a.m. at the Hay Lakes Agriplex. Members will be recognized for their hard work and the beef project participants will have the opportunity to showcase their animals. The Achievement Day is open to the public and provides a great opportunity for anyone interested in joining 4-H to learn more about the program. The 4-H program equips youth with lifelong skills like cooperation, leadership, interpersonal relations, critical thinking, decision-making, organization, public speaking and community service. By exploring their abilities and developing real-world skills, they gain confidence to navigate life’s challenges.
