hoping and praying for his recovery

Critically injured one month ago when the riding lawnmover he was operating burst into flames, Howard will have a long road to recovery. On Saturday, August 10, approximately 150 individuals gathered at the Bouck family farm out of love and respect to tackle some projects which Howard had started, envisioned or would someday accomplish. Old corrals were replaced with new posts and rails, then painted with two coats. A bulk fuel tank was readied for operation by qualified personnel. Extensive landscaping took place by enthusiastic volunteers. A lengthy shelterbelt of trees was groomed. The loft of an old barn was wired and transformed into a sports arena for the Bouck grandchildren. A tired old garage quickly disappeared. The sense of community spirit, ranging from journeyman tradespeople, neighbouring farmers, casual acquaintances to church family and relatives was overwhelming. Food prepared by the lunch food crew and a late afternoon barbecue was spectacular. The day was inspirational – the effort beyond even the most optimistic expectations. Everyone in attendance eagerly awaits the day when Howard returns to the farm he loves.
