After learning about the old, book a guided tour of the current Louisiana Capitol right down the road, which happens to be the tallest Capitol in the nation, and make sure to check out the Observation Deck on the 27th floor to experience a picturesque view of Baton Rouge.

Interactive art and science galleries feature a number of educational and entertaining exhibits, and the Irene W. Pennington Planetarium brings the wow factor with sky shows, films, and visual music shows in a state-of-the-art, 60foot domed theater.

LSU Baseball

Gourrier Drive (off Nicholson Drive) When baseball season rolls around, there is nothing like catching a game at Alex Box Stadium to cheer on the LSU Tigers! This program’s legacy reigns with championship seasons and as a nod to one of LSU’s most beloved coaches, the field is named after Skip Bertman, whose legendary 1984-2001 career is in the record books. If you can snag a spot among the 10,000-plus seats, be prepared for a top-notch ballpark experience. The Capitol Gardens in Baton Rouge
