Explore Columbia Whether you're new to CoMo or have been here for years, we're breaking down our can't-miss places full of history, heritage, and hometown pride.

The Blue Note 17 N. Ninth St.

For music lovers, this premier live music venue is just for you! The Blue Note is housed in a historic vaudeville theater located in downtown Columbia — a hot spot that has been entertaining crowds with stellar shows for decades. The owners also run the Rose Music Hall, a smaller venue only a short distance away where you also can catch a great concert. Calendars for both venues always stay booked, so grab some friends and enjoy a music-filled night!

Rock Bridge Memorial State Park 5901 S. Highway 163

Columbia is fortunate to be surrounded by beautiful state parks, and for any outdoors fan, Rock Bridge Memorial State Park is worth a visit to explore the stunning scenic environment. Not only do hiking and biking trails abound, visitors can even catch a glimpse into the area’s underworld, known as the Devil’s Icebox — a large cave system featuring a rock bridge, sinkholes, a spring, and an underground stream. Whether you go alone or with friends, bring your camera, pack a picnic, and enjoy the serenity nature offers. The six iconic columns in front of Jesse Hall

Ragtag Cinema 10 Hitt St.

There’s a gem on Hitt Street called the Ragtag Cinema — also known as Hittsville — that operates as a nonprofit arthouse cinema sharing the best of U.S. independent and international films with the community. Ragtag is located in a former Coca-Cola bottling plant, which adds some character to the film-watching experience. And as far as food options go, you’re welcome to bring your own or grab a bite at the popular and very tasty Uprise Bakery right next door.
