Camp Rainbow Gold has served as a beacon of light for children facing cancer challenges. Amid medical treatments and uncertainties, it provides a haven where laughter fills the air, friendships are forged, and the pure joy of childhood takes center stage. The impact resonates not only with the children but also ripples through their families, creating a tapestry of shared memories that inspire strength and resilience.

Our commitment extends beyond the campfire. Through our college scholarship program and the “Survivors Supporting Survivors” teen support group, we ignite ambition in young survivors and their siblings, empowering them to pursue dreams. Your support serves as a powerful catalyst, proving that a cancer diagnosis does not define their future but rather becomes a steppingstone toward greatness.

We can’t overlook the incredible journey at Hidden Paradise, our camp home, where a transformation is underway, bringing to life a vision we’ve dreamt of for over 16 years.

Witnessing structures come together, supported by financial contributions, donated services, and countless volunteer hours, has played a pivotal role in making our dream a reality.

Ground has been broken on five new cabins, a Med Shack, an equestrian arena, and a new amphitheater—all will be ready for use by May 2024.

As hundreds of our Idaho children and their families face an unthinkable cancer diagnosis, we stand ready to offer each of them a brief respite from the rigors of their new reality.

You’ve Shared Your Heart So We Can Build Our Home—Now We Share Our Home To Build Their Hearts If we built it, we knew they’d come; and come they have.

Years ahead of schedule we are in our HOME at Hidden Paradise.

I want you to take a moment and imagine you are at Hidden Paradise.

Campers are enjoying the simple pleasures of childhood – pedaling along the trails on a bike, shooting arrows at 3D dinosaurs and confidently taking the stage to share silly jokes around the campfire. They are with their friends in a place where they are understood and accepted.

If you look beyond all the fun, you will also see an army of workers putting up cabin villages, working on infrastructure, constructing an amphitheater, adding an equestrian arena, and building the new “Med Shack.” Our medical team, volunteers, and staff will be celebrating as they know this means no more waking up

counselors in the middle of the night to go to a port-a-potty.

No more standing outside under a tent to get meds from a nurse. These changes support our making sure camp is safe, accessible to all and allows us to focus on fun.

Our HOME is becoming the HOME for so many.

The transformation is truly extraordinary and made possible by many of you. To give you a taste of the generosity we are seeing, a typical nonprofit project of this size usually sees about 4-6% of in-kind donations. We are seeing well over 50%! These efforts have played a pivotal role in making our dream a reality.

We love to celebrate progress, but we are far from done. Hidden Paradise is Idaho’s only medically designed, accessible and adaptive camp—to serve children, families, and adults from across our state. Next, we have our sights on building a new multipurpose/main lodge in the heart of camp. With so much demand, and all these new cabins, we need a safe place for everyone to gather and a kitchen and dining room to feed them. Oh, we have big plans for Hidden Paradise. Pick up the hammer and join us in Healing Idaho.

Our cancer journey began when Kalista was two.

What started as a mysterious leg injury led to the gut-wrenching diagnosis of leukemia. From June 2010 to September 2012, Kalista underwent grueling treatment with unwavering faith and humor. No matter how lousy she felt, she had great faith in the doctor’s ability to make her feel better, even wearing her best dresses for hospital visits and always teasing and joking with her St. Luke’s team.

Out of those dark days came one very bright beacon of light in the form of Camp Rainbow Gold. Like most moms would be, Kalista’s mother was quite hesitant to send her fragile daughter away for a week camping in the mountains. But all that uncertainty disappeared once Kalista, her siblings, and their entire family experienced the magic and healing of Oncology Camp, Siblings Camp, and Family Camp.

“We all needed a break, and it changed our lives and our outlook to be with other families and kids who understood,” said Donna, Kalista’s mom. “We have often talked about how we wouldn’t trade our cancer journey because of all the lifelong friends we’ve made and incredible experiences we’ve had.”

Kalista is not only a warrior, but she’s also an inspiration. In 2018, she started giving back by selling pencils, homemade cards, and bracelets at her school during lunch to raise money for Camp Rainbow Gold and the hospital. And now that we are some years out cancer free, it’s such a blessing to be able to give back and volunteer at Camp Rainbow Gold!

AUCTION RULES SILENT AUCTION If you are the winning bidder on a silent auction item, you will receive a card at your table listing the item/items won and amount owed. Items must be paid in full and picked up the night of the event at the checkout table.

LIVE AUCTION If you are the winning bidder on a live auction item, it must be paid in full and picked up the night of the event at the checkout table.

PADDLE RAISE After all live auction items have been sold, you will have an opportunity to raise your paddle in support of Camp Rainbow Gold’s programs.

AUCTION RULES

1. All sales are final. There will be no exchanges, unless expressly noted in the auction description. There will be no refunds. Your bid, oral or written, is a legal and binding contract to buy.

6. In lieu of a signed agreement, the bidder paddle as announced by the auctioneer to be the winner agrees and commits to paying the said amount in full to Camp Rainbow Gold.

2. All auction items are offered as an “as-is” basis. All descriptions of auction items are for the sole purpose of identifying those items and seller disclaims any express or implied warranties.

3. Reservations for trips and vacation accommodations must be mutually arranged between the donor and the purchaser unless otherwise noted. Taxes and tips are not included unless specifically noted.

4. Airfare and travel expenses are not included unless specifically noted.

5. The highest bidder acknowledged by the auctioneer or Share Your Heart Ball official shall be the buyer. In the event of a dispute, the auctioneer or auction official shall have the sole and final discretion to determine the successful bidder or resell the item in dispute.

All items must be paid in full and taken home night of the ball unless arrangements are made with Camp Rainbow Gold.

Payment may be made with cash, credit card or check made payable to Share Your Heart Ball.

8. Each bidder agrees to hold Camp Rainbow Gold harmless from any liability arising during the event, as well as its elected and appointed officials, members and employees, the event organizers, sponsors and volunteers connected with the event.

9. Unless otherwise specified, all services, trips and gift certificates must be used by February 17, 2025.

10. All proceeds from this evening benefit Camp Rainbow Gold with a percentage being designated to the Camp Rainbow Gold College Scholarship Fund. You will receive acknowledgment of items that are tax deductible for tax purposes.

CHECKOUT Please be sure to stop at the checkout table (in the same room as Registration) to collect your items. The items will be available after the final paddle raise.
