Starry Night CAMP Gala to Honor Carroll and Patty Schubert Children’s Association for Maximum Potential (CAMP) will honor Carroll and Patty Schubert for their contributions to the special needs community, on September, 12, 2015, at the 7th Annual Starry Night CAMP Gala.

As has become our tradition, each week during our “Once Upon a CAMP” summer we will focus on a different “chapter” related to our overall theme. Thank YOU for Being CAMP's friends, Ahsan Choudary, Nic Johnson, and John Hylemon (pictured with Development Manager Nancy Gerson), are all students from UTSA Executive MBA Program. The students and their classmates Saurabh Pandsy, Daryl Barbee, Roland Zamora, and Taylor Stratton adopted CAMP as the beneficiary for their group project in Professor Matthew McCarter's Management and Behavior in Organizations class. These talented business people are stars on the rise. They can take paper clips and turn them into GOLD! Thanks for using your magic and the Paperclip Project to donate gift cards to make CAMP’s wishes come true. Thanks also to of Mission Wrecker Service SA, Inc's CEO Muhammad Choudary and CFO Sarah Shakil for their generous gift to CAMP.
Many thanks to Summer CAMP Music and Recreation Instructor Dawn Stewart, for hosting a Seder Dinner fund raiser at her Synagogue this past spring. She also shared with her family and friends the reason that CAMP holds such a special place in her heart. “Throughout the summer,” Dawn said, “I learned that acceptance is so much more than ‘being okay’ with the things that make someone different than you. It's recognizing the commonalities AND loving each other for the differences, not despite them. ”

Country Telephone Corporative (HCTC) they
believe “Giving back is a choice and a responsibility.” Employees recently participated in a company-wide fundraiser, a bowling match called Helping Hands Hit Some Pins (for charity). They raised almost $6000 for 16 local nonprofit organizations! “We're proud to help,” said Falon Scanlan, “and we're grateful for the time and efforts of each employee." Thank-you HCTC, for giving to strengthen and inspire individuals with special needs!
g A Friend to CAMP! Birthday Girl and CAMP Alumna Dana Sims visited the new CAMP Office this past week to make a special delivery. HER birthday presents. On May 23rd, Dana hosted a party to celebrate a milestone birthday at a watering hole in New Braunfels, TX. Dana had a couple of special request of her guests—she asked the ladies to wear tutus and the men to wear ties. Additionally, instead of bringing her a gift, Dana asked her guests to give a gift to CAMP from their Wish List. WOW, all we can say is you sure have some great friends. Thanks for your generosity and for including CAMP in your special celebration!
A delicious fund raiser was held by volunteer James Harris, and his Kappa Psi fraternity brothers and sisters at Texas A & M Health Science Center. The money raised was designated to purchase over-the-counter medication that will be used all summer long in the CAMP Wellness Center. It sure was sweet of you to think about our CAMPers!
