Kawarthas Northumberland

Make camp in Kawarthas Northumberland. It really is the perfect way to enjoy this region of over 350 lakes, rivers and forests—all just 90 minutes from the Greater Toronto Area. And be sure to bring your canoe, kayak or stand-up paddleboard.

There are endless opportunities for adventure. If you are camping and fishing near Stony Lake, head to Petroglyphs Provincial Park and check out the ancient First Nations rock carvings. Get to know Ottawa! Parliament Hill is at the centre of the city: come for free daily tours, the Changing of the Guard and the impressive Sound and Light Show at night. The Rideau Canal is Ontario’s only UNESCO World Heritage Site: stroll or bike beside it, take a boat cruise in the summer or skate on it in winter.

Ottawa is also home to several national museums, including the Canadian Museum of History, the National Gallery of Canada, the Canadian Museum of Nature and the Canadian War Museum.

Plan your visit during one of our annual festivals, including the Canadian Tulip Festival in May, RBC Bluesfest in July or Winterlude in February.

There are also lots of fun athletic activities. Run in the Ottawa Race Weekend, explore beautiful golf courses, go whitewater rafting on the Ottawa River or try skiing, snowshoeing or ice skating in the winter.

Découvrez Ottawa! La Colline du Parlement est au centre de la ville; venez pour des activités gratuites : visites quotidiennes, cérémonie de relève de la garde, spectacle son et lumière en soirée. Le canal Rideau est le seul site du patrimoine mondial de l’UNESCO en Ontario. Faites du vélo ou promenez-vous le long du canal, prenez un bateau en été ou patinez en hiver.

Ottawa compte plusieurs musées nationaux, dont le Musée canadien de l’histoire, le Musée des Beaux-Arts du Canada, le Musée canadien de la nature et le Musée canadien de la guerre.

Planifiez votre visite pendant un des festivals annuels, dont le festival canadien des tulipes en mai, le RBC Bluesfest en juillet ou le Bal de Neige en février.

Il y a aussi plein d’activités sportives amusantes! Participez à la Fin de semaine des courses d’Ottawa, explorez de beaux terrains de golf, faites du rafting sur la rivière des Outaouais ou essayez le ski, la raquette ou le patin pendant l’hiver.
