Tonight’s theme captures the magic of Camp For All – a barrier-free place that transforms the lives of more than 11,000 campers each year. Just like Dr. Seuss’s limitless imagination, Camp For All provides endless possibilities for campers to grow in self-esteem, while connecting with fellow campers and volunteers. To see the true impact of Camp, we encourage you to visit or volunteer at our campsite in Burton, Texas, or at the Camp For All 2U program located right here in Houston. Tonight, we come together to celebrate Camp For All. We got here through countless hours of work by a fantastic team, including members of the Camp For All Board of Directors and staff, as well as friends near and far. My gratitude for them is truly as boundless as the opportunities provided by the amazing organization that we are supporting. This evening, I am especially grateful for you! In the immortal words of Dr. Seuss, “You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself in any direction you choose.” I invite you to heed this advice by bidding on the wonderful items in the auction, purchasing raffle tickets and a bottle (or two) at the wine pull, or raising your paddle to send a camper to Camp. Your generosity this evening will help our campers with special needs and challenging illnesses truly discover all the places they can go. And will we succeed? Yes, we will indeed! Dr. Mark W. Kline and Texas Children’s Hospital Camp For All is delighted to be honoring Dr. Mark W. Kline and Texas Children’s Hospital, both of whom have a history of service dedicated to helping children. As Texas Children’s Physician-in-Chief, Dr. Kline leads the Department of Pediatrics, which includes more than 1,000 pediatric subspecialists. He also oversees an ambitious international program that partners Texas Children’s and Baylor College of Medicine to provide HIV/AIDS care, treatment, and education and training to health professionals in underserved global communities. Working in collaboration with Camp For All, Texas Children’s and its physician leaders bring seven different camps to Camp For All each year. In addition, the hospital has provided important financial support, including underwriting the unique, barrier-free, indoor challenge course at Camp.

Liz Rigney We are also pleased to honor Liz Rigney, who has been passionate about Camp For All since the very beginning. Liz has served enthusiastically as Gala Chair, Friends of Camp For All Chair, and as a member of the Board of Directors. Liz co-chaired the Capital Campaign Committee and chaired the 25th Anniversary Committee and the Board Development Committee. Her leadership as the Board of Directors Chair in 2014 and 2015 advanced Camp For All to new levels of excellence. The gracious support and service of Liz, her husband Robert and their children has enabled thousands of campers to attend Camp For All.
