By 2012 year end, contributions to Camp Fire's $10.7 million capital campaign to renovate Camp El Tesoro totaled $7.7 million. First Texas Council was selected as one of ten Camp Fire councils in the nation for a 3-year pilot for THRIVE, a research-based youth development curriculum that will reflect the Camp Fire focus. Camp Fire expanded its After School Program to Fort Worth ISD’s Charles E. Nash Elementary School. The staff of the Child Development Center, which serves more than 80 infants, toddlers and pre-schoolers, participated in Connect4Success, Camp Fire’s research-based social-emotional development curriculum.
