THE WALKING SOCIETY is a community open to everyone from all social, cultural, economic, and geographical backgrounds. Individually and collectively, The Walking Society champions the imagination, energy, and lifestyle of the Mediterranean, offering valuable ideas and solutions to better the world.
The first issue of The Walking Society Magazine launched in 2001 and focused on Mallorca, Camper’s native island. The original series, which covered different territories throughout the Mediterranean, lasted four years and eight issues before ending in 2005. In 2020, the concept was relaunched to explore new regions and their cultures.
To celebrate 50 years of Camper, Issue #18 returns home to the Mediterranean island of Mallorca, famous for sun, sand, and shoes. Legendary British photographer Martin Parr chronicles our road trip with his characteristic color and comic flair. Down on the beaches and up in the Serra de Tramuntana, we caught up with the locals that give this laidback island its electric energy.
