A Brand New Camp Experience! In October, we welcomed new campers and volunteers from two North Carolina agencies: Wilkes ADAP (Adult Developmental Activity Program) and Summit Services in Ashe County. The Wilkes group was able to attend thanks to one individual’s incredibly generous donation, which covered the fee for four campers!
As one Summit volunteer put it, “Camp Blue skies represents a perfect balance between supporting people with disabilities, and giving them opportunities to try new things, feel success and practice cooperation.” The feeling is mutual, as we appreciate the amazing work these agencies do in their communities throughout the year.

College Classmates are Ohio Bound! Mark your calendars for September 7-11, 2014! Camp Blue Skies is going to Ohio and my dear friends and college classmates, Jon and Brenda Holcomb are leading the charge, along with Peter James who is co-chairing our volunteer recruitment with Brenda. Jon has identified the perfect camp facility, Recreation Unlimited, located just north of Columbus, Ohio (my home town) near Ohio Wesleyan University (our alma mater).
