WINTER 2022

A SPECIAL THANK YOU TO OUR 2021 DONORS AND SUPPORTERS While 2021 wasn’t quite the return to normal we had hoped for, thanks to the generosity of each name on these lists, Camp Blue Skies continued to find ways to connect and engage with our community of adults with developmental disabilities, parents/caregivers, and volunteers.

many told us how much fun and reassuring it was to see their campers laugh, dance, sing, make crafts, and more. Plus, some told us they got a better idea of what camp was like.

Our team worked with instructors, professionals, and volunteers to provide quality programs for two free virtual camps in March and October. We also hosted a handful of one-night virtual events to stay in touch.

Three of our fundraisers — Steps For Camp, Hooked On Camp, and Cornhole For Camp — introduced many folks to the experiences that our campers enjoy. We also revamped the Donate page on our website to outline different ways to financially support our camps, from stock gifts to vehicle donations to corporate partnerships.

While parents and caregivers didn’t get sustained respite from the online events,

Thankfully and joyfully, we ended the year with a return to an in-person week-

end camp Dec. 10-12 at YMCA Camp Thunderbird in Lake Wyle, SC. Check out the photos! We’re not sure who was more excited or had more fun: the campers, the volunteers, or our team. Thompson, Elevation Church, and Duke Energy SC joined Domtar as our Camp Partners. The strong commitment to safety for Weekend Camp helped ensure that no one (to our knowledge) contracted a virus of any sort. That accomplishment will help us move forward. Again, we are grateful for your support! We hope you can join us at camp this year.

THANK YOU! We are grateful for the organizations, foundations, and individuals who provide financial and in-kind support for Camp Blue Skies.
