The martial art is supposed to be traditional and the only thing that should be commercial is now a days is that the teacher must eat, cover his expenses such as those of the Academy, that is, the premises and their expenses, in addition to the cost of paying the monthly payment that is dew every month and charge the students for learning because that teacher must pay the expenses of his house and what he needs to eat too. He must have something additional left over to save or for emergencies and something to invest in advertisements and in implements of daily use for classes to grow on. This on one hand and on the other the commercial schools that are in addition to the growth of class attendees based on rapid learning because they have exams every two or three months to motivate their students to stay and invite other people to participate or join the classes. Well, if it can be just that learning should be treated like a plate of food, savored and enjoyed as well as knowing well what has been learned. Today there are other business or commercial schools that teach fast and move their students quickly to the next grade or rank, even if they don't know well what they have learned. These schools are called McDojo or McDojang and are considered to be giving away ranks, that is, they make students pass quickly through ranks, whether they know what they are supposed to be learning and master what they learn. This is also a commercial school or organization and there would be nothing

wrong if the students were not deceived since in a street fight where the adversary will want to cause them harm. They will not be able to defend themselves and then they will be told that it was their own fault for those students result and who knows that they did not do correctly from what they learned. Find out what type of school you find yourself in and if it is the right one. It is not very safe to learn from them the way they teach and soon you will hear about the exams are soon to be taken in that school and it will not take long for those students to pass rank. When this happens it will not allow the student to grow emotionally and develop his patience which will cause that person to be indecisive because in his learning because he has not found obstacles to overcome. Of the two types of commercial schools, those like McDojo's will go to competitions with other schools that are of the same type and all students get medals, which is not bad but they will not be able to overcome themselves physically or mentally. Those who are from the other type of commercial schools may learn and improve somewhat but they will not learn well what proper etiquette is, which is what forms a tradition. In general, a traditional martial art trains in an orderly manner, that is, there is opening and closing of classes. In the middle there are, let's say, various segments that generally include if it is Japanese style with training of the arms and then the legs, which is the opposite of Korean martial arts that after warming up the kicks are done and then the blocks and strikes are trained in addition to

walking and doing combinations of both things, that is kicks with blocks and blows to continue with the forms and before finishing the training the combat is trained to finish with the cooling down exercises to close the class. Likewise, there are federations that are commercial type, that accept members to whom they sell the idea of participating in their activities and to bring new members to whom a membership is charged and it is renewed every year also there are federations that are traditional and do this similar. There are federations with a sports tendency and that is fine but this activity distorts the essence of that martial art. However, it is possible to achieve competitions in combat, forms that the arts that have in it, also in weapons, in falls and acrobatics such as breaking and in self-defense techniques. There will be federations that group different styles or a single style with activities in which there will be a seminar, camps and meeting meals. These two kinds of federations can make exams but it is not correct or appropriate for them to sell degrees. Just because a member says that he has many members and incorporates them, he will be given a rank to the one who directs those groups if he does not meet the minimum requirement to have that new rank. The federations that sell ranks of black belts or high levels of black belts are not invalid if that federation is recognized for the activity, of handing out ranks if it is not in accordance with the organization you belong to. Likewise, there are federations that are well-known as the McDojo type that give at a cost to the members as well as to group leaders who, without verifying what these people know and are giving degrees of Dan levels. There is no legal way to regulate this anywhere in the world as it seems. What must be done? Actually, there is no exact answer. The only answer will depend on the conscience of that person. There are times when it is preferable not to belong to any organization, but being in the right organization gives one's group the experience of meeting other people interested in traditional art itself.
