ITF Taekwon-Do and its sporting facet.
Undoubtedly the TaeKwon-Do I.T.F. Traditionally, it stands out as a martial art, it is a way of life, it has various social development programs and it has a very well developed sports aspect.
In this opportunity we will see what is the highlight of the sports facet that the I.T.F. that far exceeds the highest expectations an athlete can hope for.
The World and Official World Cup are the official championships of the I.T.F. The first I.T.F. It was made in Montreal Canada 1974. The last World Cup with General Choi Hong Hi alive was in Rimini Italy 2001.
I.T.F. After Gen. Choi. Continuing the legacy.
In 2003 the World Cup in Poland developed by our I.T.F. managed to summon all the champions of all the adult male weights of Rimini Italy 2001 making it clear that to be an I.T.F. and to succeed the champions of that time you have to be in the I.T.F.
In each edition the I.T.F. has achieved a championship so convening in quality and quantity that it managed to maintain and improve the characteristics of the I.T.F. with Gen. Choi in life.
It is no stranger to personalities like Tomaz Barada, Julia Cross, Suska, Solovey, Mark Troter. etc. be a reference for all practitioners of TaeKwon-Do I.T.F. affiliated with any organization.
It was the I.T.F. of our organization who gave visibility to these competitors who are benchmarks of technical excellence. If we were to make a list of Argentine benchmarks, I would dare to say that more than 90% stood out in our world championships and that 90% are undoubtedly the names that stand out the most.
Just name three coaches. Master Edgardo Villanueva, Master Jurek Jedut and Master Willy Van de Mortel (former coach of Master Tomaz Barada) and current coach of Norway, to realize the level that marks the best state of the art in this facet. The I.T.F. In organizational terms, he set the quality standards so high that it is unthinkable to think that a competitor could have a world championship outside of our I.T.F. that can offer the prestige and services that our World Cups provide, here everything works according to time and only those of us who have been able to experience several World Cups know it.
Technical standardization together with the improvement of regulations, logistical resources and technology have brought the art of TaeKwon-Do I.T.F. to its maximum development.
In I.T.F. Competitors' protective equipment is checked, referees are trained in advance, stadium security is approved, and the World AntiDoping Code of the World AntiDoping Association (WADA) is applied.
In I.T.F. High competition must offer its participants a first level in all aspects and guarantee the main players the best scenario for high competition.
The General Assembly of I.T.F. As the highest governing body, it decides the venues and dates of the World Cups and World Cups from a list of qualified candidates who show their projects and make their presentations at the congresses.
The Tournament and Referee Committees coordinate the annual competition calendar with the referee qualification courses and other official events.
World Championships
The World Championships are held every two years, in odd years.

To compete in World Championships, entrants must hold an ITF black belt title and be national champions in their own countries or selected by trial.
The National Association of each country appoints a delegation of competitors and others, who will represent that country in the championship.
The World Cup
It is an open competition, it is held every two years in even years and blue, red and black belts can participate. Any school, club and/or individual that is not part of the ITF must have permission from the National Association to participate in the World Cup.
I personally traveled to participate as a coach in four I.T.F. Mar del Avocado Argentina 2009, Jesolo Italia 2015, Dublin Ireland 2017 and the last face-to-face so far, Inzell Germany 2019, in all of them I was also a delegate to the congress for Uruguay. That is why, although I base my article on the Institutional Book of I.T.F. 2021, I have written this article having participated in this wonderful experience of representing Uruguay at every opportunity in super organized events that host in the best way more than 1200 black belt athletes representing more than 50 countries.
When you hear that I.T.F. It must be Olympic, personally I am not worried, as a FIFA player is not worried about going to the Olympics, the World Cup offers in our organization a scenario that can only be improved by the I.T.F. and it is that scenario in which I wish our students can reach the podium feeling SEE
FAIR WORLD CHAMPIONS.
The next events are the Koper World Cup in Slovenia and the World Cup in Finland. Together with Leonel and Yamila we plan to make Uruguay's first experience in a world cup.
In our next column of "The Way" we will develop each of the individual and team competition items and their regulatory details.
