Performative walls

5-axis subtractive machining on planar surfaces The current work investigates subtractive machining of patterns on planar surfaces with an innovative and experimental approach and the goal is to achieve different visual effects for market-oriented applications such as wall paneling. The method applied was to first generate toolpaths parametrically, then simulate using CAM softwares and finally fabricating prototypes with a 5-axis CNC machine.
The objective of this pattern was to interact with light as a way of creating figurative shadows. By changing the light source location, distance and angle, the resulting images also change. In order to achieve such effect two different strategies were approached:
1. Placing the light perpendicularly to the panel 2. Placing the light behind the plate. This project was created in the framework of the Master Parametric Design in Architecture - Barcelona 2019 Team: Marina Brant - Camila MuĂąoz - Rudrapalsinh Solanki

Elastic Gridshells

This project focused on construction-aware design and concludes with the fabrication of 1:1 model. Instead of designing a shape and later plan the fabrication, we instead designed the form that may emerge given the geometrical and mechanical properties. The confrontation of the parametric modelling including the simulation, analysis and fabrication to the reality of assembly process, organization and building precision.

Developable Ngons
10/02/2019
The goal of the project is to fabricate an efficient and optimized Parabolic cyclide with the help of Developable Ngons. To have a better approximation to the surface to be developed, we will use non-planar polygons, in which the vertices will be projected in the base geometry, to begin with a minimum deviation from the original surface.
Four meshes were created each one with an approximation to the different design, in order to evaluate them and compare them select the best
The selected mesh was number 1 and since the interior angles of the polygons were kept at 360°, they could be cut without splitting the polygons, the pieces of the mesh were projected onto the xy plane and then numbered according to their edges and faces. Intervention in the landscape International Workshop
27/01/2014
Intensive workshop through which diagnoses will be established and urban and landscape solutions will be proposed with the objective of rehabilitating the Santa Elena river as a social and spatial connector, with special emphasis on the construction aspects of an urban landscape with environmental quality. The main purpose of the projects will be to propose a basic plan for the regeneration of the river.
The urban intervention promotes social change and improves the quality of life of the inhabitants of the sector, thinking of a future where the words “let’s go for a walk to the beach” can be retaken.
This project was created in the framework of the UPB workshop Intervention in the landscape - Medellin 2014 Team: Isabela González - Natalia Marín - Camila Muñoz - Valentina Pineda - María Aurora Ríos

Inside a box 50cm X 50cm X 50cm with the possibility of extending 25cm more towards their faces, you must create an urban furniture thinking about the need of the community of the neighborhood Manantiales of the municipality of Bello.
The furniture will be located in the field, this is a place where the community should walk through to leave the neighborhood , but it does not have a specific place to stay, for this problem we propose a modular banking that generates in its connection points a space to stay.
This project was created in the framework of the UPB workshop Insitu - Medellin 2012 Team: Daniel Asprilla - SebastiĂĄn Monsalve - Camila MuĂąoz- Saray Restrepo

The idea behind modular configuration is to define a spatial solution that is capable of growing and adapting according to the need to change; or according to varied conditions in different places. It seeks to achieve a connection with the environment through the public space since the geometry is not site-specific; it is configured around the needs and demands of the different communities.
A flexible matrix is created that regulates the generation of fillings and voids, generating in the perimeter of the project a condition of duality where the inside and the outside are diffuse, and are distinguished more by the condition of cover rather than by the perimeter axes.
The module generates wide and flexible spaces in which they can have several uses in themselves, but through repetition has the ability to adopt different uses and typologies.

The idea is to create a space dedicated to oral tradition, where everyone can communicate and learn from each other. the project articulates the landscape, public space and architecture through an element that unifies full and empty. The building arises around a central, open-air theater that geometrically articulates the classrooms and covered activities, generating a public space in the form of a park.

The kindergarten represents one of the first architectural projects that begin to develop in the career, being this one that more scope and development obtained in the first two semesters, the architecture expands in terms of the conception that had and becomes possibility of analogy, and integration of methods and theories as part of the design, as well as a more appropriate management of the insertion of the project in the field and taking advantage of the existing topography as part of the landscape and spatial composition.
