We were totally blown away by submitted photos for this edition and we know you will be too when you'll take a look at these amazing photos. We would like to welcome our featured special photographer Peter Zurla who returned to photography after 40 years of absence and is here to give us a pass into seventies. Nowadays of instant digital imaging, black & white traditional photography still survives albeit more modestly, but its rich historical background still serves to inspire, educate and affect people emotionally as the contents of life and the world around us are brought before our eyes.
One might ask when is the best time to use Black and White photography? All events, portrait and even a cloudy day. Knowing the trick of when to use black and white photography instead of color will help you to get the most out of your photography. This issue's published photographers see and frame the numerous facets of beauty and the astonishing peculiarity of what is around them. Nelson Oliveira (31), from Lisbon, Portugal is an amateur photographer that just loves to make photos. More than the results itself he is completely passionate about the process of making photographs, going out, having a camera in his hands, feeling the rush and adrenaline, smell the streets...
In fact Lisbon is his natural habitat and his ultimate goal is to make the viewer feels the desire of travel and visit his so loved Lisbon, just by looking at his shots.
Actually, street it’s almost the only kind of photography he does and it’s where Nelson feels at home. His best friend is a Fuji X100s that he carries every time, everywhere, always looking for the next shot around Lisbon streets.

BACK TO THE 70’s PETER ZURLA
UNITED STATES Peter is 74 years old and is a cancer survivor. His 5 year anniversary was June 2014. Born in New Jersey. Spent 30 years of his life in New York City. Had an OFF-BROADWAY theater with his brother for a couple of years. Fantastic experience. Peter was very involved in photography in the 70’s when it was film and darkrooms. After returning to photography after 40 years and being challenged with the uniqueness of a vast learning curve, he is so eager to pursue this passion he abandoned so long ago. Life’s twists and turns created a different world for him over the many years which have passed. Now, Peter is grasping all that he can which allows him to feel
whole and rejuvenated... and purposeful. Peter is ready. HE IS BACK. Peter’s interest and love for photography came out of a feeling of very low self esteem. Peter felt he couldn’t express himself with words so he turned to doing it visually. Peter remembers vividly what it felt like to watch a photo in the developer come alive. MAGIC. It was a feeling he has never had before. To be able to create from start to finish. Wow. Then as things often do, life intruded. Well here he is 40 years later minus the darkroom/film but loving the challenge of the digital world. The cameras, the software, etc. are the tools to be used to express his vision of the world and its inhabitants...

THOMAS LEUTHARD SWITZERLAND
Thomas Leuthard is a 42 year old street photographer who lives in the heart of Switzerland. He travels to the big cities of this world in order to witness and document life on the streets. Thomas has a 90% job in IT, working for the local government administration. Currently he is working with an Olympus OM-D E-M1 mirror-less camera. Most of his work is in black and white.

LITTLE TIBET ALESSANDRO PASSERINI ITALY
Alessandro studied photography since he was sixteen, first at school then for work, and he still studies, passionately and inevitably. Alessandro chose the visual arts by nature, because they allow him to show anyone how Alessandro sees the world, and he loves express himself this way.
Now Alessandro is one of the photographers of Art+Commerce/VOGUE and is art director of two Art Price in Italy, but he never forgets to go back to the mountains, whenever he can.
There are many places and people that inspire him to photograph. Mainly the mountains, in central Italy, in a place named “Little Tibet” by the writer Fosco Maraini. Alessandro loves playing with the wild horses, sheep dogs, foxes and wolves. He lives on the trails of the ‘Little Tibet’.

THERAPIST WITH A LENS TAL FLINT ISRAEL
Tal is a professional portrait and beauty photographer, located in Tel Aviv, Israel. Taking someone’s picture is beyond technical skill for him. It’s not just about the gear or the lighting, it’s about connecting to the person in front of Tal’s camera, learning to know the person, and working with him, to get the personality out, and taking the best picture possible. Tal doesn’t think there is such a thing as a nonphotogenic person, only someone who lacks the confidence and the basic skills to stand in front of a camera. You don’t have to look like a super model to
have great picture, just self confidence that it can be done, and that’s what Tal is working with his clients on. He guides them throughout the session, building their confidence, helping them open up, telling stories, cracking jokes, everything it takes to help them relax. Tal believes that a good portrait photographer, besides being an artists, is someone who is able to read people and connect with them, some kind of “therapist with a lens”. The same goes to actors and models. It doesn’t matter if they know how to work the camera, they need to feel comfortable and just have fun.
Tal studied photography, make up, animation and Chinese brush painting, and he combines everything he learned in his photography. His style is very clean and minimalistic. Tal doesn’t like clutter and lets his portraits speak for themselves. Over the years his work was honored with several awards, Tal was invited to participate in international photography exhibitions, and 2 personal exhibitions. What drives Tal is his love for the art, and the joy of creating something new every time he picks up his camera.
