In 2015, during a photographic show in Japan, Howard and Saul Frank were inspired to create something similar in Perth. Their vision was not only to showcase the latest in photographic technology but also to provide a space where creatives could freely experiment, network, and collaborate as this is what Camera Electronic is all about. Thus, the PhotoLive Expo was born—a place for like-minded individuals to connect, share ideas, and find inspiration.
This one-day event, transforms the Novotel in Perth into a hub of photographic excellence. On August 17, 2025, the Expo will bring together the entire photographic community in Australia.
The Expo features a massive area where leading manufacturers, including Canon, Nikon, Panasonic, Sony, Aputure, Godox, Profoto, Tamron, Sigma, Ilford, DJI, seriously, so many word leading brands if I list them all we will be here until the show's next edition, showcasing their top-of-the-line gear. Attendees can get hands-on experience with the latest products, while a pop-up studio offers a space for anyone to try out new ideas or test equipment in a practical setting. Entry to the expo area and the pop-up studio is free, with a suggested gold coin donation to Telethon at the entrance.
In addition to the main exhibition, the PhotoLive Expo offers engaging 40-minute talks on a wide range of photography subjects, delivered by professional photographers from Perth and the eastern states. Moreover, five intensive two-hour workshops provide participants with the chance to learn from industry leaders, gain valuable insights, and refine their skills.
And that's not all, during PhotoLive our Marketing team and Directors work really hard to put deals and exclusive offers for you guys. For Short-Term Hire our own gear hire department is here to help. Imagine you're working on an amazing project and need that $10,000 lens to make it happen. If you know you'll need it for a specific day, why not hire it instead of buying? It's a cost-effective way to access top-tier gear. Not sure if a particular lens is right for your photography business? Rent it for a day and see how it performs. If you decide it's exactly what you need, we'll deduct the rental cost from the purchase price.
Long-term Rental allows you to rent equipment for at least six months. This is perfect for those who require reliable gear over an extended period. If you are interested on how that works, please ask one of our very knowledgeable staff.
