GUESTS WELCOME TO WALK AROUND MEMORIAL

Camden County understands that the adornments you place at your loved one’s paver is there to help you honor and remember them. To maintain the integrity of the area, we need to clean the site and remove objects and soiled flowers on a rotating basis. This is in no way being done out of disrespect to you or your loved one. While we sympathize, and understand wanting to place something at their paver for remembrance, we ask that you do not adhere anything with tape or burn wax candles, they are damaging the finish of the pavers and the Overdose Ribbon.

KEYNOTE SPEAKER

Pam Lanhart

Founder &

Director of Thrive! Family Recovery Resources

Pam Lanhart is the founder and Executive Director of Thrive! Family Recovery Resources, a national nonprofit she launched in 2016 to support families impacted by addiction. A devoted mother, Pam transformed unimaginable grief, the loss of her son Jake in October 2021, into a mission of healing, connection, and hope.

With courage and compassion, Pam shares her journey as a mother navigating the challenges of care, loss, and grief. Her story shines a light on the stigma surrounding substance use disorder—the harmful myth that addiction is a moral failing, and calls instead for a more compassionate, evidence-based understanding rooted in dignity and love.

Pam leads with empathy and action. She created and moderates a private Facebook support group with nearly 10,000 members, where she and her team connect daily with families in crisis across the country. She takes the time to personally respond, offering resources, guidance, and a listening ear, ensuring no family feels alone.

Through one-on-one peer coaching, structured Invitation to Change (ITC) support groups, and transformative workshops like From Tough Love to Loving Well, Pam equips families with the tools to foster connection, resilience, and growth—drawing on the proven CRAFT methodology.

An award-winning advocate and sought-after speaker, Pam uses her voice to build bridges between pain and purpose, and to move communities from shame to healing, from silence to storytelling, and from stigma to solidarity.

The Camden County Addiction Awareness Taskforce, created in 2014, has been vital has in raising awareness about the devastating impact of substance use disorder. Their collaboration has contributed to bringing together municipalities, health care institutions, law enforcement, educators, and residents to shine light on the opioid and overdose crisis. Through this work of Camden County partners, together, we have laid the foundation for today’s countywide system of care.

Building on this foundation of community awareness created through the workings of the Addiction Awareness Taskforce (AATF), the Department of Health & Human services (DHHS), Office of Mental Health & Addiction (OMHA), develops funds, and oversees more than 55 services that directly address prevention, early intervention, treatment, harm reduction, and recovery support.

Recent highlights (2024):

• 40,184 individuals reached through OMHA-funded programs across Camden County.

• REAL Sports & Activities facilitated nearly 30 events, connecting with 1,235 individuals to help support healthy recovery.

• Sober living engagement assisted nearly 500 monthly admissions with placement and ongoing support.

• NaloxBoxes expanded by 126 new placements in 2024, bringing the countywide total to 661 across schools, public buildings, and community settings.

• Overdose response kits distributed in partnership with hospitals and health providers — totaling 1,700 kits year-to-date, which included nearly 10,000 fentanyl/xylazine test strips and Narcan.

• Through OMHA grants, 431 residents were admitted in treatment who were uninsured, in addition to 141 individuals incorporating Medicated Assisted Treatment in their treatment plan.

• The OMHA Outreach Team with the Mobile Unit, Camden County Police Department, and partners expanded outreach efforts in Camden City, conducting 76 street outreach events and 36 additional at Cathedral Kitchen, reaching nearly 3,600 residents.

• Project S.A.V.E., Certified Alcohol & Drug Counselors placed directly in the Camden County Municipal Courts, enrolled an additional 638 participants, and connected them to 608 confirmed treatment admissions. Year-to-date: 4,358 Enrolled & 5,015 Treatment Admissions confirmed.

• NOPE (Narcotics Overdose Prevention & Education) delivered nearly 70 school presentations in 2024, reaching close to 8,000 students (Year-to-date: over 24,000 youth served).

• Senior education initiatives reached more than 360 older adults in senior centers, increasing awareness of substance use and mental health.

• Certified Peer Recovery Specialists in our County Shelters enrolled 127 individuals experiencing homelessness and connected them to 96 treatment admissions.

These successes reflect the gracious support and dedication of our Camden County Board of Commissioners, Department of Health & Human services, Office of Mental Health & Addiction, Camden County Prosecutors Office, the AATF, and all of our county partners.
