The 2025 Park Events Guide is the best way you can stay up to date on all the wonderful programs and events Camden County has to offer this season. Whether it’s celebrating Independence Day at Freedom Festival on the Camden Waterfront or catching a free summer concert at a variety of our parks this summer; the more than 2,500 acres of parkland and green spaces provides something to do for everyone in our community. To keep providing these quality outdoor spaces, the Board of Commissioners has continued working on its $100 million plan to revitalize the county’s 24 parks, conservation areas and waterways.
The Parks Alive 2025 initiative has successfully completed over 30 projects since being introduced in 2022. Among these projects are the Cooper River Skatepark, a $900,000 project that was opened in December, a new softball field at Cooper River Park that was completed in September, $1.3 million in playground renovations at Newton Lake Park, and much more.
Additionally, the county has continued to work on the design and development of Camden County LINK Trail. In 2023, the county received $19 million from the US Department of Transportation’s Rebuilding American Infrastructure with Sustainability & Equity Grants program for the trail. When completed, the Camden County LINK Trail will travel through 17 Camden County communities, from the Ben Franklin Bridge in Camden to the Pinelands National Reserve in Winslow Township.
Camden County’s parks and green spaces are bustling with activity all summer long. From fitness classes to mindfulness yoga sessions, cultural celebrations and more, we invite everyone to come out and enjoy what our world class parks system has to offer. The Board of Commissioners is proud to present another incredible season of fun and recreation for our residents and we look forward to the continued improvement and enhancement of the Camden County Parks System.

CAMDEN COUNTY PARKS SYSTEM
The Camden County Parks System is a diverse system of parks serving a population of over 500,000. Within its 2,000+ acres of parkland, there is something for everyone in Camden County to enjoy. The residents of Camden County can enjoy natural settings, areas for picnics, family gatherings, sporting events, beautiful waterways for fishing and boating, a wealth of playgrounds and a variety of ball fields close to home.
In 2022, the Camden County Board of Commissioners launched Parks Alive 2025; a collection of priority park development projects over the next several years that reinvest in invaluable park features and reimagines our spaces to increase both active and passive amenities for all to enjoy. The plan addresses everything from critical environmental improvements, ADA and Universal Design enhancements, and improved safety and security measures to new equipment, facility upgrades, and so much more.
Since the announcement of Parks Alive 2025, the Parks Department has successfully completed 30 projects including playgrounds, pavilions, path improvements and more!
