From the Office of the Principal Heather Crisci
Dear Camden Catholic Community,
This year marks my 25th school year at Camden Catholic High School This year I also had the privilege of watching my daughter graduate from CCHS As a parent of -now- two CCHS alumni, I can honestly say that I have watched my children both benefit from what the school provides to all students: a superior Catholic school education grounded in our Catholic faith Our students are most definitely better people because of the time that they spend at CCHS.
Camden Catholic High School educates students with purpose, providing a strong foundation that sets them up for success in the future This is evident in the accomplishments of this year ’ s senior class. From their college acceptances to their merit scholarships to their work in the classroom to their achievements outside the classroom, this class is no less than extraordinary I have enjoyed watching the class of 2025 grow and learn at CCHS over these past four years They are a successful group of high achievers in the classroom, on the fields, and and on the stage As their principal, I can speak with great pride about what they do each day.
These graduates may be leaving the halls of CCHS but they will forever be part of this community At their commencement ceremony, I told them that they are now one of more than 16,000 living alumni who all remember how “honor, faith, and loyalty” affect their lives Camden Catholic is an incredible community, and our newest alumni will all start to learn the power of what it means for them to be a graduate of this school.
In addition to celebrating our students, our community is also very pleased to be welcoming Mr James Hozier as the fifth president of CCHS this summer Mr Hozier comes to our school with experience as a Catholic school leader, and he is ready to be an active part of this community He has just begun to learn about the connections that are a special part of Camden Catholic, and he will undoubtedly bring his expertise in Catholic school education to help lead CCHS into the future
We look forward to welcoming you all to campus this school year at a game, the spring musical, or even the Hall of Fame. CCHS is grateful to each of you who are important members of this school community
God Bless, and Go Irish!

A Letter from the Board Chair Jack Wixted ’72
Dear Camden Catholic Community,
As we reflect on the 2024–2025 school year, we are filled with pride and gratitude for the many blessings that have shaped our Camden Catholic family This year marked another chapter of excellence in academics, performing arts, and athletics, anchored by the remarkable achievements of the Class of 2025 Our 144 seniors attended graduation in the Grandi Auditorium with a beautiful Baccalaureate Mass celebrated by Most Reverend Joseph Andrew Williams, the ninth bishop of the Diocese of Camden, New Jersey
The Board welcomes Bishop Williams to the Diocese and Camden Catholic family and is grateful for the support of Superintendent, Dr Bill Watson Of course, I would be remiss in not thanking Bishop Sullivan for his spiritual guidance and support of Catholic education, particularly his enthusiastic support of Camden Catholic during his tenure as Bishop through March 17, 2025.
The Board of Trustees is also grateful for the leadership and the unwavering stewardship of Principal, Heather Crisci, who undertook the interim role of Head of School during the second half of the year Heather’s efforts, along with the diligent support of our Administration skillfully guided Camden Catholic during this transition period The Board also recognizes the teaching excellence of our faculty, notably Dr. An Nguyen, who teaches in the Science and General Arts Department and who was named one of Princeton University’s Distinguished Secondary School Teachers for the 2024-2025 school year and was so honored at Princeton’s commencement ceremony
The Class of 2025 has left an indelible mark on our school With over $31 million in college scholarships earned, 83% accepted to their first-choice college, and 55% pursuing STEM majors, their academic and personal accomplishments are extraordinary. Among their many achievements, we celebrate students attending prestigious institutions such as Villanova University, Boston College, Georgetown University, and Saint Louis University We are especially proud of Nilaa Ponnappan, who earned appointments to both the U S Air Force Academy and West Point, and will attend the Air Force Academy Two additional students earned ROTC scholarships, and six students are entering skilled trades, a testament to the diverse talents and aspirations of this class
The Performing Arts 2025 spring musical of Tuck Everlasting, which took place on the on the Farina-Gianfortune Stage, was the 103rd spring musical produced by Camden Catholic and gave us memorable insights into the secrets of eternal life!
In athletics, the Irish enjoyed championship seasons in Field Hockey, Wrestling and Boys Basketball while both Football and Volleyball won their conference. Several individual All South Jersey and All State performances were recognized, and Camden Catholic continues to place athletes in their respective sports at the college level.
This year, we welcome our new President, Jim Hozier, whose leadership and vision will guide Camden Catholic into an exciting future We are confident that Jim’s commitment to Catholic education and student success will build upon the solid foundation laid by his predecessors We also recognize and thank our departing trustees, Anne Hartman, Marianela Nunez, Dennis Corbett ‘90 and Linda Carrick ‘71, for their years of service and leadership and we warmly welcome newly appointed trustees Marcus Coleman ’12, John D’Anastasio ‘65 and Ed Radetich ’72 to the Board of Trustees. This year marks my final year as Board Chair as I turn the mantle over to Joe Caputi ’12 I will continue on the Board as Vice-Chair and look forward to future years of growth for Camden Catholic
As always, we are grateful for the unwavering support of our alumni and friends. Your generosity during Irish Giving Day and throughout the year sustains our mission and strengthens our future. Please continue to keep Camden Catholic in your prayers and support GO IRISH!

From the Office of the President James Hozier
Dear Camden Catholic Community,
As I begin my first year as President of Camden Catholic High School, I am overwhelmed by the warm welcome I have received In my short time I have been here, I can already sense the devotion that our students, faculty, staff, friends, and alumni have to the mission of the school I am excited to learn more about this community and grow with it as we continue to develop tomorrow ’ s innovative learners in the Catholic Tradition of Mercy
As someone who was born and raised not far from here, in Riverside, I had the privilege of growing up hearing about and watching all the great things that Camden Catholic High School was doing. Unfortunately, I was not able to attend Catholic School as a child, but I have spent the ast ten (10) years of my career in Catholic education across the bridge at Father Judge High chool in Philadelphia, PA I started as a long-term sub, was converted to a teacher, then spent our (4) years as their Assistant Principal for Academic Affairs, and my last three (3) years as their Principal During that time, I worked with my team to implement numerous new programs and pportunities for the students. It is my hope to continue doing so here at CCHS.
n my ten (10) years at Father Judge, I spent time moving around until I met my current wife, Tara In October 2022, she and I tied the knot and decided to move back to my roots in New ersey, and now I spend my free time in Cinnaminson with my wife, my 2 ½ year old son, and my 6-month-old daughter. Being back home has allowed me to spend more time with my family, and look forward to having my family join me at various school events as time goes on
In my short time here, I have had the privilege of learning, growing, and connecting with peers and mentors who are passionate about shaping the world The sense of belonging and purpose that comes from being part of this school’s network is something I deeply value and am excited to join. I was drawn to CCHS because of its strong sense of community, tradition of excellence, high level of alumni engagement, and the faculty’s commitment to the growth and success of every student As we look ahead, my goal is to contribute positively to the culture and spirit that has made Camden Catholic High School a place where people thrive, not just academically, but personally, socially, and spiritually as well. I look forward to collaborating with the students and faculty, learning from our alumni's legacy, and helping shape a future where every member of our school community feels valued, supported, and inspired.
To the future students; I can ’ t wait to meet you and support you as you begin an exciting new chapter, to the current students; I’m here to help you learn, grow, and make the most of your time here, and to our alumni; your achievements and stories are a reminder of what’s possible, and I look forward to honoring the legacy you ’ ve built, and to our faculty and staff:; I’m eager to work alongside you in service of the mission we all share, to develop tomorrow ’ s innovative learners in the Catholic Tradition of Mercy
Thank you and God Bless,

Graduating Students Purpose
By Kate Madden Bieg ‘98
On a warm June evening the class of 2025 inched down the halls one last time before becoming alumni of Camden Catholic. They would soon be led across the Cuthbert Road walkway by our loyal bagpiper, the Honor, Faith, Loyalty and Mercy gonfalons, and into the Grandi Auditorium, for the penultimate ceremony of their high school careers. Among the graduates were actors and academics, state champions and stage managers. There was a soon-to-be Marine, an Air Force cadet, devoted altar servers, a cancer survivor, an E-Sports champion, a basketball record holder and Vex robotics world competitors Together, they have earned $31 million in college scholarships and 735 college acceptances to schools including the University of Pennsylvania, Northeastern University, Boston College, University of Southern California, Georgetown University, Saint Louis University, Case Western University, Villanova University, and the University of Virginia.
This class of 2025 represents so much of what makes Camden Catholic special, and how unique the fabric of our community truly is, beginning their time together in September of 2021, in the midst of a worldwide pandemic, from 53 different towns and 58 different middle schools. Despite their differences, and the spectrum of characteristics and talents that make each 2025 graduate unique, there are certain ties binding them together on this graduation day, which will continue to hold them together for decades to come. Each Camden Catholic graduate knows exactly what this means. As they reflect 5 years, 10 years, 50 years from graduation day, alumni may not remember the individual accolades and accomplishments of classmates, but they will recall the events and traditions that define membership in this 16,000person alumni family. With joy, CCHS welcomes the class of 2025 into this family, and celebrates their accomplishments that illustrate how Camden Catholic continues to educate with purpose, 138 years since its founding.

Ryan Mullin
Our Lady of Good Council, attending Nor theastern University
This year ’ s graduation speaker, Ryan Mullin shared beautiful insight on the continued impact of the Sisters of Mercy on Camden Catholic students, 138 years since their founding of the school During his senior address, Ryan shared how a quote from Mother Catherine McAuley, foundress of the Sisters of Mercy, helps to illustrate the journey of the class of 2025 “The simplest and most practical lesson I know is to resolve to be good today, but better tomorrow. ”
Ryan reflected on the many “wins” of the graduates’ time at CCHS, the many ways they were “good ” And, he shared how they will use this experience to be better tomorrow, as they graduate and step into the future Ryan also reflected on the resolve that comes only through God. He said: “It is acknowledging that life will not always be easy, and that there will be hard times to come, be it times of loneliness, homesickness, or just being overwhelmed in general But even in these hard times it is the decision to try To keep faith when it would be easier to quit ” “Camden Catholic has taught us that we all will always have something bigger than ourselves to turn to. Not just in the big, obvious moments, but in the small ones too In the quiet prayers before a test In the comfort of a friend who lifts us up when we are struggling In the moments of prayer during school Masses And in the acts of service that taught us what it means to be the body of Christ in the world ”
Northeastern University will be privileged to have Ryan as a member of their student body, and we know he will thrive as a computer science and business administration major

Truth,
Time,
and Tradition:
Radium Girls & Tuck Everlast ing take the stage this year at CCHS
The 2024-25 theatre season at Camden Catholic presented two unforgettable productions, both instilling in the performers and their audiences a renewed reminder of the power of storytelling, community, and tradition.
Radium Girls and Tuck Everlasting, while vastly different in time period a nd tone, both explored enduring themes of truth, sacrifice, and the fragile beauty of life Through these stories, our students mastered complex dialogue, vocals, and choreography, embodied emotionally demanding roles, and delivered powerful performances that moved audiences and sparked meaningful conversations
Of course, none of it happens without commitment The success of these productions is a testament to the passion and dedication that comes from our cast, crew, pit band, and production staff. Every rehearsal, build day, and backstage cue reflected the excellence and heart that have defined the Arts at Camden Catholic for over a century At a time when critical federal support for the arts is being slashed nationwide, Camden Catholic remains firmly committed to investing in arts education, recognizing it as not just an extracurricular but an essential part of developing well-rounded, expressive, and empathetic young leaders
At Camden Catholic, the arts aren ’ t an extra they’re a tradition; a cornerstone of our school’s identity This year reminded us why that tradition matters and how, together, we can ensure that the Arts at CCHS are Everlasting
24-25 AD AND PATRON DRIVE
We are deeply grateful to the many generous donors who contributed to our Ad & Patron Drive, which raised an incredible $65,424 this year for the Spring Musical Their support fuels this program and ensures that current and future students can continue to grow in confidence, creativity, and collaboration through the arts See below for a list of our $500+ Donors and scan the QR code to view the playbill, with our full list of sponsors

Michael Franz ‘11 & Aidan McDonald ‘17
It is a well know fact that Camden Catholic High School offers its students an excellent education in the area of the Fine and Performing Arts Please keep reading as we spotlight two graduates of our Performing Arts program who are using their God-given talents to give back in unique ways.
Mike Franz is an Instructional Assistant Professor of Theatre Arts in the Department of Theatre & Film at the University of Mississippi He has previously taught at the University of Central Florida in Orlando, FL, and Chestnut Hill College in Philadelphia, PA He holds a Ph D in Theatre Studies from Florida State University, an M A in Theatre from Villanova University, and a B A in Theatre: Acting/Directing from De Sales University For the University of
Mississippi, Mike teaches courses in the Appreciation of Theatre for Non-Majors and Sports and Theatre. The former introduces students to theatre as an art form, covering each of the basic elements that contribute to mounting a theatrical production The latter examines contemporary dramatic literature that uses sports as a framework to discuss social and political issues both in the U S and globally
As an academic, Mike’s primary research area focuses on discourse surrounding the topic of sport as performance, examining individual figures, events, and other phenomena in contemporary sporting culture. Mike’s writing has been published in The Journal of Dramatic Theory and Criticism, and he has presented his research at several academic conferences Mike is grateful to the faculty and staff at CCHS, particularly Mrs Nancy G Werner and Mrs Elizabeth Gallagher, for encouraging his creative curiosity as an actor and intrepid pursuit of knowledge as a scholar His time spent acting in the fall plays and spring musicals, rehearsing with the Shakespeare troupe, and singing with the liturgical choir played a key role in guiding Mike to pursue a career teaching theatre in higher education.
Since graduating from Camden Catholic, Aidan McDonald, earned a B A in Theatre from Rowan University with concentrations in acting, musical theatre, and theatre education He then attended the National Theater Institute at the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center a launchpad for early career theater practitioners Aidan has since appeared in various productions as well as staged readings of new plays across the tri-state area
During the 2022-2023 and 2023-2024 school years, Aidan returned to Camden Catholic to coach the Shakespeare Troupe and Actors Guild, alongside Mrs. Nancy G. Werner, in memory of teacher and mentor, Ed Corbett.
He annually returns to The O’Neill for their Young Playwrights Festival an event that brings back alumni to produce staged readings of new plays written by local middle and high school students
Aidan resides in West Philadelphia enjoying crafty hobbies and writing music. He is currently an understudy for New Light Theatre’s production of Once, an ensemble member for The Candlelight Theatre’s production of Ragtime, and a featured actor for a short film expected in the fall

LEGACY IN ACTION:
Alumni Unite for Camden Catholic’s First Ever
This Giving Tuesday, Camden Catholic High School launched its first-ever Battle of the Classes, a spirited, 24-hour alumni giving challenge that turned philanthropy into friendly competition. Graduates from across the decades rallied to represent their class years, donating in suppor t of tuition assistance and newly established class scholarship funds. With bragging rights and recognition on the line, alumni showed up in full force to claim the top spot for their class. In just one day, the community came together to celebrate their shared legacy while making a meaningful impact on current and future students.
Thanks to the success of this inaugural event, Battle of the Classes is poised to become a proud annual tradition at Camden Catholic where every class can compete, give back, and show what it truly means to be par t of the Camden Catholic family.
SPECIAL SHOUT OUT:
It wasn’t just alumni who got in on the action current students joined the Battle of the Classes, too! Congratulations to the Class of 2028 for winning the student competition by raising $97 during the school day. Your generosity and enthusiasm helped make the Battle of the Classes a true school-wide success. Way to go, freshmen!
THE RESULTS!
The Class of 1963 took the top spot, raising an impressive $15,775 to establish their class scholarship fund. They were closely followed by Friends of CCHS (non-alumni donors) with $14,195. Rounding out the leaderboard were the Class of 1972 ($5,450), the Class of 1974 ($5,350), and the Class of 1960 ($3,500). In total, alumni and friends of Camden Catholic raised over $62,000 in just 24 hours a powerful show of suppor t for the next generation of Irish
Secure Your Legacy and the Future of Catholic Education through a Planned Gift to Camden Catholic
Since 1887, Camden Catholic High School has endeavored to educate diverse learners and develop innovative leaders who are steeped in the Catholic tradition of Mercy. For nearly 140 years, this mission has driven our efforts to provide an educational experience rooted in faith, academic excellence, and service to others. As we look to the future, we recognize the vital role our community plays in sustaining and enhancing our mission As a member of that community, one of the most impactful ways you can contribute is through planned giving.
What is Planned Giving?
Planned giving refers to any major gift, made in lifetime or at death as par t of a donor’s overall financial and estate planning. Such gifts often allow donors to make larger contributions than they could from their income These gifts can take many forms and offer many tax benefits, including;
● Beques ts - Including Camden Catholic in your will or trust is a simple and effective way to make a lasting impact while potentially reducing your own estate tax liability.
● Char ita bl e Trus ts (CRTs ) - These trusts provide income to you or your beneficiaries for a set period, after which the remaining assets benefit the school. (By transferring appreciated assets into a CRT, you avoid immediate capital gains tax. The trust can sell the assets without incurring capital gains tax, allowing the entire proceeds to be reinvested )
● Li fe Insurance - By naming Camden Catholic as a beneficiary of your life insurance policy, you can make a significant future gift with relatively modest current costs. (With Camden Catholic named as the beneficiary, the policy proceeds are removed from your estate, potentially reducing estate taxes )
● Retirem ent Plan A ssets - Designating Camden Catholic as a beneficiary of your retirement plan can be a tax-efficient way to suppor t the school (Retirement accounts, such as I RAs and 401(k)s, can be heavily taxed if left to heirs. By naming Camden Catholic as a beneficiary, you can avoid income taxes that might otherwise be due )
How to Get Star ted?
Planning your legacy is a deeply personal and significant decision We invite you to explore the possibilities of planned giving with Camden Catholic. Our Advancement office is here to assist you and your advisors in creating a gift that meets your philanthropic and financial goals.

Offering our most sincere thanks to this dedicated group of donors who have shown their support for Camden Catholic for over 20 years! Catherine McAuley once said, “We should all be shining lamps giving light around us.” We extend love and gratitude to our most loyal supporters for shining their lamps so that others may follow.

THE FUND FOR C AMDEN C ATHOLIC
The greatest number of gifts to CCHS are unrestricted cash donations, known as CCHS’s Greatest Need, to The Fund for Camden Catholic Gifts can also be restricted to tuition assistance, arts or athletics, including specific sports These gifts make strides toward helping us maintain a competitive value proposition for families seeking a Catholic education for their children.
The Shamrock Society
The Shamrock Society is our giving club for donors who contribute $1,000 or more to The Fund for Camden Catholic each year Members of this society send an outward message that they know Camden Catholic and its students are a worthy investment
Tuition Assistance
Approximately one third of our students receive some form of tuition assistance based on a standardized assessment of financial need. Your gifts help each of our families continue to choose Catholic education All recipients are chosen based upon academic performance and demonstrated financial need.
Why Tuition Assistance Matters
For years, the Sisters of Mercy were able to contribute their services to Camden Catholic High School to reduce the cost of tuition, thereby making a Catholic education affordable for families Today, the rising costs of healthcare and technology attribute to a higher cost of education, and tuition must be increased accordingly
What can I do?
• Contribute to tuition assistance and you will afford a student the opportunity to find themselves, uncover talents, grow academically and spiritually, and develop leadership skills for a 21st century world.
• Named scholarships can both support a student and honor a living individual, family, group, or memorialize a loved one
