TASK 05 OBSERVATION - METAL Observation drawing is always a challenge. Our level 2 students build on knowledge of tonal work and observation by looking at reflective material during the first phase of their course. The skill builder work gives time to fundamental drawing skills, and as you will see, this sometimes is refined to the highest level. Students always rise to the challenge, not only creating great shadows and reflections in compositions they put together, but challenging perspective and types of objects used as well!
The work you see in this portfolio showcases some of the amazing technical skill that is developed during this assignment. Stretching and challenging understanding of observation techniques and producing these incredible outcomes. The work that proceeds this does include planning, photography skills and explorations of media. Many will choose charcoal or pencil for their final drawings, but it should be noted these outcomes are the result of time spent previously trialling and learning to get to this level in most cases.
