TASK 07 PORTRAITURE - BLACK & WHITE Portraiture is a real challenge so early on in the Level Prior to this work being carried out, students have 2 Art and Design course, but, it‘s very helpful in skill learned about black and white photography, which has supported them in having some great reference development. images to work from. Students up to this point have tried monochrome drawings, however, to put all the forms found on the face together is yet another challenge. Students get to choose their media for this, but it needs to stay monochrome to continue to test observation and use of tonal range in their art.
They really rise to the challenge, and this portfolio shows the outcomes they submitted for the task. Many will opt to work on stretching their technical skills, but others will take it further by contextualising their work and adding personalisty, purpose and story-telling to their art.
