Featured authors Kevin Warwick and Huma Shah Authors of Turing’s Imitation Game This book departs from the others on Turing’s Imitation Game. Firstly it presents (the late) John Westcott’s and Giles Brindley’s views on Alan Turing from the perspective of co-members of the Ratio Club. The book then examines Turing’s ideas to measure a machine’s intellect through question-answer tests and explores the philosophy that has grown up around the Turing test. Actual human-machine conversations, gathered from original experiments conducted by the authors, allow the reader the opportunity to distinguish human dialogue from artificial conversation.

Richard Lyon Author of Human and Machine Hearing My goal in writing Human and Machine Hearing has been to bring together engineers and scientists from diverse fields to understand, in a common language, how the study of human hearing leads to effective computational methods for extracting meaning from sound. Interweaving the long history of discoveries and ideas about sound and hearing from multiple perspectives has been a fun part of this challenge.

Tomi Klein Author of Basic Concepts on Data Structures I wanted to write a book on Data Structures, covering most of the basic topics and giving all the necessary background for subsequent courses on Algorithms. I believe in associative learning, and intersperse the text with short flashbacks to basic notions of discrete mathematics, whenever needed. I thought about a textbook that can be read sequentially, so not too lengthy, not comprehensive, but containing the right blend of theory and applications.
