UNVEILING INNOVATION IN THE NATION’S CAPITAL

BY KATHY JALIVAY

In the prolific landscape of Washington DC, where economic prowess meets architectural innovation, Cambria continues to make its mark across North America with the grand opening of its newest Sales and Distribution Center (SDC) and Showroom in April of this year. This milestone represents not just a new facility but is a testament to Cambria’s continued commitment to community investment and showcasing its leading quartz designs.

The expansion into the DC area began in 2021 when Cambria made its debut in the market with a temporary location. The leased facility served its purpose but Cambria wanted to cater to the area’s designers, end users, and business partners with a state-of-the-art showroom, a place where they could meet, align with consumers, and be inspired by the countless design choices available.

In March 2023, that goal was realized as ground was broken for the new facility in Manassas, VA, just outside of Washington DC. This significant investment wasn’t just about erecting a building, it was about integrating seamlessly into the fabric of a community that is undergoing prolific real estate development.

The development and construction was led by Joel Peters, Cambria’s Vice President of Real Estate. In his role as a real estate strategist, he scoured the streets, following the wisdom of “never drive the highways, always stay on the side roads.” It was this persistence that led to the discovery of a six-acre site that would soon transform into Cambria’s newest SDC. With a vision in mind, Peters and his team navigated through the intricacies of development, from sourcing real estate to overseeing construction and ultimately the completion of the 25,000-square-foot SDC this past April.

The new location is strategically located in Prince William County, a short drive from the nation’s capital, and 20 miles from Fairfax County, prominently positioning Cambria among economic powerhouses and a burgeoning population in Manassas. This particular area is filled with elite tech entrepreneurs and movers and shakers within a number of industries. For Cambria, it’s not just about proximity; it’s about being part of a community where innovation thrives and where the demand for premium quartz surfaces is ever-present.

The company-wide planning of the new Washington DC SDC began nearly four years ago. This new facility, and the others like it, are a testament to the cross functional relationship and interdependence between the departments at Cambria. Sales, Operations,

Marketing, Finance, and IT were (and continue to be) integral to the planning and execution of this facility.

Regional Vice President of Sales Chris Recchia emphasizes the importance of this new location. “It’s not just about upgrading access to designs or enhancing logistics, it’s about putting down roots and making a long-term commitment to the region. With upgraded facilities, including a crane system and a first-class showroom, Cambria sets the stage for meaningful business engagements and customer interactions.”

The doors are open and Cambria is ready to embrace the future and share its industry-leading quartz designs. With events lined up to showcase its depth of designs and a team poised to nurture relationships, the journey represents not just a physical transformation but a promise of Cambria’s unwavering dedication to excellence. ✦
