Welcome to CGS Kayaking 2022 Welcome to Season – Information Night FOK are holding a welcome to season and information night on 5 October 2022, the first Wednesday training for this year from 5pm to 7pm at the Camberwell Room. There will be pizzas and soft drinks supplied by FOK for the boys and parents. Please come along if you are able and learn about what is planned for the kayaking year. While it’s just your boy and his partner out on the water, Kayaking is a team sport. We are all part of that team. Parents are needed in many roles to make CGS Kayaking fun and safe. Support roles vary from cooking eggs for the welcome breakfast, driving the boat trailer, joining the committee, fundraising and helping out at events (rescue baots etc). There is something to contribute no matter your skills or available time. Most of he current support team is retiring at the end of this season and new people need to contribute while they are still here to share their experience. Please come along if you possibly can and particiapte in Friends of Kayaking.

Open Day 2022 Open Day is fast approaching (Saturday 8 October) and FOK will be running an ergo distance competition and a display of some kayaks, photos and equipment. We will also sell cold drinks for some fundraising. This is a great way of showing future families and boys what kayaking is all about. We are seeking volunteers to help operate our stall. We’d like parent volunteers for slightly over 1 hour shifts to help running the competition and payment/cash taking between 10.00 am and 2.00 pm and to help set up and tear down the stall at the beginning and end of the day.
