From the Acting Headmaster Cancer Council’s Biggest Morning Tea Thank you to all of our staff members and students who came together yesterday to support the Cancer Research Foundation and “Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea”. The School raised over $700 towards the fight against cancer, with the money going to fund research and to provide support services to patients and their families. A special thank you to our Health and Wellbeing Committee and our Prefects for organising this very worthy event. Thank you also to all of our students and staff who supplied a delicious array of treats for the morning tea. Several of our boys displayed outstanding baking skills and their wares were most appreciated.

Balwyn Rotary Club Public Speaking Competition Philip Alex (Year 11) won his way through to the Grand Final of the Balwyn Rotary Club’s public speaking competition last week. Out of nine schools represented (Strathcona, MLC, Scotch, Xavier, Camberwell Girls Grammar School, Camberwell High School, Fintona, Genazzano and Siena) four speakers will ‘speak off’ next Tuesday night at a Gala Dinner. Philip was able to speak without the aid of cue cards on the topic ‘The Dying Art of Conversation’. Congratulations to Philip and best wishes for next week’s Grand Final.
