Student Free Days Junior School boys are not required at School on Tuesday 11 June, as our Junior School staff will use this day for planning. Monday 24 June is a Student Free Day in both Middle and Senior School. Teachers will be completing endof-semester marking and pastoral care reports on this day.

Week 7 Activities A special thank you to all of our staff who made the special activities of this week possible. Our Middle School students seemed to enjoy their sustainability, civics and Indigenous studies, and it sounds as if our Year 9 students had extraordinary experiences all over the country. The Year 10 students have gained a small insight into the work environment during their very varied work experiences this week.

General Achievement Test (GAT)

Dates Ahead

All Year 11 (studying a Unit 3 and 4) and Year 12 students will sit the General Achievement Test (GAT) on Wednesday 12 June. This test is used regularly to assist with the calculation of final VCE scores, particularly if students are ill during the examination period, or require some other type of special consideration. It is important therefore that each student does their very best in this test. I wish all students the very best for the GAT; I know that the good work they have done already this year will stand them in good stead. • All Year 12 students should be at the PAC by 9.30am. • All Year 11 students studying a Unit 3 and 4 course should be at M30 by 9.30am. • All other Year 11 students are to meet outside W310 at 9.30am for their practice GAT.

The onset of winter brings the usual colds, flu and other assorted infections. Please do not send your son to school if he is unwell. Colds and flu can spread very quickly through our School, and in the interests of all please keep sick children at home. Parents will be asked to pick up their sons if they are clearly unwell at school. If your son is going to be absent from school please email attendance@cgs.vic.edu.au. Thank you for your cooperation with this matter. Rob French, Acting Headmaster

Congratulations on the efforts of all boys and staff through a busy and rewarding Week 7. I was very happy to receive numerous calls of praise from members of the public. Your boys are terrific and as parents you ought to be very proud.

Congratulations A couple of weeks back we congratulated William Watson (Year 6) for his selection in the State Swimming Team. This week William was also selected in the Victorian Under 12 Hockey Team. Last week Taren Rose (Year 8) represented Victoria in Baseball, where his team finished a respectable 4th place.
