Camberwell Food Month August is ‘Food Month’ in Camberwell and for the third year, we’re running the“Dine In Dine Out Food Fiesta” which will feature our food stores, restaurants and cafés.

FOOD TRADERS: If you’d like to be involved, get in touch with us. You should also start planning with your suppliers or staff.

Get Involved Create an event or promotion IN YOUR BUSINESS for part of, or the entire month of August. We will advertise your events as part of DIDO’s heavy promotions, driving ‘bums to seats’ and ‘dollars to your till’. Start talking to your suppliers and staff today about ideas.

Here are some suggestions:

President’s Letter Hi to all our members, We have had a strange period again in politics, however all signs are showing that it has had no real negative effect on retail or professional businesses. There are always some exceptions, so it will always be negative for a few, however it seems less than the last few years. Retail has recovered overall, with some small exceptions.

It is not buoyant for any one, especially small business, however it does seem the other ledger is coming ahead.

It really does not matter what happens in national politics at this time, as it seems the people have made up their minds that no one party can do the job.

My best advice is: Be best at what you do!

The Dine In Dine Out opening weekend Food Fiesta runs from Sat 1st to Sun 2nd August. All stores can tap into the community event, with many local families coming along for the free entertainment, tastings and the Jazz Lounge Saturday night event in our car park.

Fashion & Beauty Autumn/ Winter 2015 We have two promotional opportunities – you decide if you wish to be involved. Targeted digital marketing as well as traditional media, including radio, will sell the precinct as The Style Junction.

The Style Junction Our website STYLEJUNCTION.com.au, focuses on fashion and beauty and looks like a fashion magazine.

It is specifically marketed to those looking for fashion & beauty advice. We have fashion journalists and bloggers writing articles, we just need content from you. Send us your new season images / stories / style profiles for the chance to be included in our promotions. Advertising will drive traffic to this site as visitors can win a $1000 Shopping voucher to spend on Camberwell Fashion. Make sure they see you!

StyleSessions New for 2015, Style Sessions invites customers to attend a Sunday afternoon tea in the stunning upstairs function room at Elyros Restaurant with three professional image consultants. Attendees will learn how to fashion their personal style while helping make shopping for fashion fun again. They can then book a personal shopping session in Camberwell with their favourite stylist. There will be tips, advice and special offers, plus each guest receives a $50 Camberwell shopping gift card to kickstart their Camberwell Shopping.

Filming Along The Strip We are filming a series of short clips for the precinct, with a montage of logos and street scenes. With an emphasis on our unique boutiques, showcasing the Camberwell fashion offer and huge range of beauty service, this will be used in current promotion and sit on our website long term.

Camberwell Shopping Website Refresh Over the years our Camberwell Shopping website has been continuously expanding.

Now with over 10,000 unique visitors every month and growing, it continues to be a valuable tool for spreading the word about Camberwell’s diverse shopping precinct.

Largest Growth In Visitors In 2014 The Camberwell Shopping website saw the largest growth in 2014 since its launch. Visitors to the site are able to discover and connect with Camberwell traders in a varierty of ways including blogs, news and articles, monthly competitions, sales, and more. The active online community of visitors come from all walks, with a large number coming for the fashion, food, health and beauty, which have become synomymous with the Camberwell shopping precinct.

Top Features & Mobile Growth The SHOP GUIDE feature on the website is the most popular page, collecting over 23,000 visits over the

year, even more when you count visits to individual shop pages. It lists all the shops in Camberwell by category, and directs people to individual shop pages, if they need more information. Each shop’s individual listing acts as a microsite, with brief information on the store. This works especially well for stores with no website of their own.

Camberwell Shopping’s website received 55% of it’s traffic from mobile sources in 2014, keeping ahead of the trend towards mobile web usage.

Planned Website Refresh In 2015 We’ve been seamlessly changing and upgrading the Camberwell Shopping website over the last few years since its release. However, with the changing habits of our visitors and the lessons we’ve learnt since our launch, we are planning a huge and exciting refresh.

The new site will be packed with improvements, to grow the Camberwell Shopping brand even further.

It will provide richer content about the local area, a more streamlined way for visitors to consume shopping news, as well as a jam packed, new Shop Directory and shop pages with all the features that your visitors want. The new, responsive site will focus on providing a strong user experience across phones and tablet devices, ensuring that our large number of mobile visitors find the site easy to use and navigate.
