Marketing snapshot

Some of our recent campaigns have included Easter, Mother’s Day, autumn, and CamberWELL-BEING.

This year for Easter, we had the Easter Bunny visit Camberwell Junction to meet and greet shoppers and share some goodwill. The campaign also featured our annual competition, The Great Camberwell Easter Hunt, which invited people to find the golden eggs hidden on posters across the precinct. The campaign was supported by digital advertising, social media activity, printed posters, and online editorial.

Our Mother’s Day campaign featured a competition for Marvellous Mum Awards. It gave entrants the chance to win a $500 voucher to spend in Camberwell Junction – all they had to do was tell us what Mother’s Day award they would give their mum for a chance to win. The promotion was supported by website editorial and digital advertising.

We ran our annual autumn campaign to highlight new season offerings, including fashion, homewares, dining, beauty, and wellness. The campaign promoted several retail categories and adopted our refreshed branding to reinforce its association with Camberwell Junction.

CamberWELL-BEING returned this year to promote our health and wellness businesses. Held on Saturday, May 28, the day gave shoppers the chance to discover businesses along the Wellness Trail and win a share of prizes worth more than $5,800. The event was a great success and offered traders the opportunity to connect directly with prospective customers.

Our online marketing activities continue to yield strong results. Here’s a snapshot of Camberwell’s digital audience numbers:

• More than 8,100 email addresses in our subscriber database

• More than 150,400 visits to the websites over the past year

• More than 8,700 followers on social media.

Winter seasonal campaign

Our seasonal campaign for winter launches on June 1 and will run for three months. The campaign highlights key retail categories and things to enjoy in Camberwell Junction during the winter including new season fashion, fresh food, and staying fit and healthy. It will also share ways to embrace winter comforts as we head indoors for social activities such as dining at cafes and restaurants, enjoying local wine bars, or heading to the cinema to see a film. Look out for our branded posters, online editorial and digital ads, which adopts our new Camberwell Junction branding, incorporating the logo, colourways and distinctive design.

Camberwell Culinary Awards

This year we’re hosting the Camberwell Culinary Awards, and we’re inviting food and dining traders to get involved. Cafes, restaurants and food outlets must nominate themselves for an award category which includes ‘best coffee’, ‘best lunch’, ‘best boozy beverage’ and several more. Customers will then vote on their favourite dish or drink by entering the competition. The best part of the campaign is that it will drive customers to your business – to enter the competition, customers have to purchase a meal or drink from your business and upload a receipt as proof of purchase. The winning business will receive a plaque to display in their window. This is a great opportunity to showcase your business by engaging with the local community, while leveraging our advertising and publicity. To get involved, email Aaron: camberwell@assemblo.com

CamberWELL-BEING a success

It was great to finally run our CamberWELL-BEING event on Saturday, May 28, having missed the last two years due to COVID. This event highlighted the health and wellness businesses in Camberwell Junction. Participants followed the Wellness Trail to explore local businesses and meet our traders. It was a good turnout on the day and many people were able to join fitness classes, sample health food, and try a medical treatment, as well as enjoy the roving entertainment. Thank you to the traders who got involved, to those who donated gifts for the tote bags, and to those who contributed to a total prize pool of almost $6,000. We have many happy winners and excellent feedback from participants already, with many looking forward to next year’s event. We hope that you will get involved in 2023 to support our growing health and wellness sector.

Sunday Funday for Main Streets of Australia Week

To coincide with Main Streets of Australia Week, we hosted a Sunday Funday event on Sunday, May 22. We partnered with Rotary Camberwell Sunday Market to celebrate their fundraising milestone of $20 million with a fun day at the market which included live music, entertainers, face painters and giveaways. Market-goers were encouraged to venture into the broader Camberwell Junction precinct to enjoy some shopping, dining and other activities to make the most of their Sunday.
