Theatre Do’s and Don’ts
Do
● Turn your phone off or on airplane mode, not simply on vibrate. Incoming calls/texts to a silent phone can interfere with our wireless microphones, and thus your enjoyment of the show.
● Remain in your seat during each ENTIRE act. Some scenes require complete darkness, and an open theater door may cast unwanted light upon the stage during key moments. Additionally, cast and crew will be using the aisles during performances.
● You will have a 15 minute intermission, leaving in the middle of a scene or even between scenes is considered rude.
● Enjoy the show!
Don’t
● Take pictures or video during the performance. Copyright laws prohibit it.
● Talk or whisper during the performance.
● Students, don’t try making eye contact or getting the attention of a cast member, you will be removed.
Children and Live Theatre
● Attending a live theatre performance can be a magical and memorable experience for young children. Done well, you will be planting the seeds of appreciation in a young patron for a love of live theatre. Done poorly, you can create an awful experience for your child as well as the people seated nearby.
● If your child becomes restless, frightened, or very loud, please take them to the commons. We thank you for your consideration, and please enjoy the show!
