Be the Shortcut to Success. Our users are full of ideas but short on time. We do not give them any more work to do than is necessary to get great results. We dierentiate ourselves from other solutions by radically focusing on exactly what our user needs to get their content in front of their target audience no matter the platform or device.

Don’t Make Users Think. Make products that are easy and straightforward to use. The next action the user should take ought to be obvious. Users don’t look for the optimal choice, they look for the one that makes the most sense to them within their current context. For that reason we don’t overwhelm with options.

Build Trust by Being Familiar and Predictable. Although our products should feel unmistakably Issuu through persistent visual and behavioural similarity, they adapt to people's devices and contexts, rather than being consistent for the sake of consistency. Follow platform speciďŹ c guidelines by default and add customisation only when necessary to do so. Use familiar patterns to make experiences intuitive and recognizable.

All People. All Platforms. Our products are inclusive and available to everyone. We endeavour to make our products accessible to people with visual impairments or other disabilities. Designs should account for dierent mobile OSs and dierent browsers on various desktop OSs.

Evolve to Meet User Needs. By understanding how our product will be used and who will use it, we adapt to changing use cases and user demands. We do this by adopting a exible, modular approach to design that is responsive by default and easy to update. Updates to our design system should either enhance a current pattern, or solve an unmet need. Avoid bespoke solutions for isolated use cases.
