WHO WE ARE Calvary Christian School has been providing the Cincinnati metropolitan area with a quality Christ-centered education since 1974. Although a vital ministry of Calvary Baptist Church, CCS has more than 80 different churches represented in its student body. Central to our understanding of education is that any learning that excludes the Creator of the Universe is incomplete. Therefore, the centrality of God and His love for us and the truthfulness of Scripture are integrated into every subject taught to our Preschool K3 through 12th Grade students. Our current enrollment is 487 students.

our mission “Equipping the Next Generation to Impact the World for Christ.”

our vision Calvary Christian School Students will use their minds and hands to actively serve and glorify God with their whole life, wherever His will leads them.

our values Each student will grow academically, physically, spiritually and socially to be prepared to accomplish their God-given mission. “Jesus grew in wisdom and stature and in favor with God and man.” - Luke 2:52

who we serve Calvary Christian School serves students in Preschool K3 through 12th Grade. Our student body is made up of families that reside in various Northern Kentucky Areas, such as Covington, Independence, Ryland Heights, Taylor Mill, Lakeside Park, Union, Crittenden, Florence, Burlington, Hebron, Alexandria, Cold Spring, Highland Heights, Melbourne, Fort Thomas, Fort Wright, Fort Mitchell, etc. We also have school families that reside in Ohio and Indiana.

what we do We live in a world and nation that is increasingly opposed to Christian principles and the truth of Scripture. As our students move into this world, I believe it is important that the teaching that is represented by the diploma they receive must be Christ-centered. This highlights the significance of what Calvary Christian School has to offer. Our mission at CCS is “Equipping the Next Generation to Impact the World for Christ.” There are two parts to this task, the input and the outcome. The input is the “equipping” that takes place inside these walls. We not only want our students to know and understand math, science, language arts, history, etc. We want them to be grounded in God’s Word. We don’t want them to just be successful at college or their job. Our desire is for them to view the world through a Biblical lens. This means that God’s Word, not culture, society or the latest movement, will define salvation, marriage, the treatment of other people, gender, politics, success, etc. Whether the world acknowledges it or not, God is the Creator, Sustainer and Ruler of the universe. Therefore, ANY education, no matter how academically strong, that excludes God is a faulty and incomplete education. The second half of the mission statement focuses on output. We want our students to impact the world for the Kingdom of Christ. The things this world has to offer are fleeting, however the impact these students can have for the cause of Christ will echo into eternity. Our society, our culture and our nation are running full steam ahead toward destruction – just watch the daily news. Our world desperately needs the love of Christ. Regardless of their career choices, our students have the opportunity to be the vessels used to stimulate the change our world needs, wherever God places them. This is the impact we expect our graduates to have.

OUR GROWTH Over the past three years, our enrollment has grown over 37 percent! We have had consistent wait-lists ever year during this time frame. We have added four additional classrooms in two modular buildings and an additional meeting/learning space in the main building to accommodate our student body. While these endeavors have provided some temporary relief, but they cannot be the long term solution to our current and projected enrollment growth. To simply put it, we are out of room. Our mission is to equip the next generation to impact the world for Christ and we cannot achieve this mission if we continuously turn families away due to space.

CAMPAIGN HISTORY As our culture drifts further and further away from Biblical truth, fulfilling our mission in each of our students is needed now more than ever. While there are many factors that drive families to pursue Christian education, today’s cultural “norms” that are forced on our children is the biggest one. We began to anticipate growth in 2019, so we started the Imagine Tomorrow Campaign. The plan was to build four permanent modular classrooms near the elementary entrance. The Butler Building, named after our own Kindergarten Teacher, Miss Sandy Butler, was to house the 5th and 6th grade classes. The cost was to be around $700,000. In 2020, shortly after we announced Imagine Tomorrow, the pandemic hit and we were sure that our enrollment would dip. We decided to push “pause” on this campaign...but, our enrollment didn’t drop drastically, it began to grow exponentially. The Lord blessed us greatly. The “pause” prompted us to re-access our immediate needs. It became apparent that we needed a second gymnasium. While we have been blessed with a wonderful gymnasium, we currently have 500 students that utilize this space. Aside from regularly scheduled P.E. classes, we have 12 basketball teams and an archery team that share one gym during the same season for practices and competitions. We also have additional factors such as concerts, musical productions, chapel, the need for an indoor recess space and a testing area that will accommodate our high school students for ACT, PSAT and ASVAB testing. We need a larger gym to relieve the current strain on our gym and for the growing athletic interests of our elementary students. In 2021, we re-imagined our plans and opted to expand on the opposite end of the building. This expansion would allow us to add four classrooms and a second gymnasium. This new building was going to cost $3.1 million. While this addressed the immediate needs, it did not address future growth. It was time to go back to the drawing board.

RISE UP & BUILD Our Rise Up & Build Campaign is Phase 1 of our expansion plan. We plan to build a new wing off the existing main entrance, between the current structure and the lower athletic fields. The Butler Educational Wing will benefit every single student at CCS and allow us to increase our capacity to 800 students. The features of the new building will provide CCS with the following: • • • • •

A second gymnasium Eleven additional classrooms Two additional restrooms A secure entrance A concession stand and restrooms that are accessible from the lower athletic fields and new gym • A weight room for our athletes • A multipurpose room for large student/staff meetings Aside from these benefits, the steel, brick and glass structure will provide a new modern look with a legacy link to the existing brick building, anchoring us to our heritage as we lean into our vision for the future. The newly designed courtyard will provide a welcoming entrance for our students, families and guests. This facility will benefit every student at every educational level. It will also allow CCS to have an impact on every student at every grade-level with increased opportunities in academics, athletics, the performing arts, and technology. This will be a facility that our current students will enjoy, our alumni can be proud of, and our future students will look forward to using.

OUR FUTURE After performing an extensive master site plan, we have unveiled our campus’ true potential. We have decided that each expansion will be phased in as we are blessed with funds. • PHASE 1: a new athletic complex that will include a track, turf field, stands, lights and a field-house • PHASE 2: a new 7,000 square foot preschool facility • PHASE 3: an 800 seat auditorium with 10 additional classrooms designed for musical instruction and technology and audio-visual training
