CalHEAT Forum 2013 Maps Route 66 to Clean, Efficient Trucks
The High-Efficiency Truck Users Forum (HTUF) brought more than 50 industry stakeholders together in Pasadena last month for the kick-off meeting of the Commercial Truck Action Group (CTAG).
The California High Efficiency and Advanced Truck Research Center (CalHEAT) and its stakeholders will be convening their third annual Forum:
HTUF 2013 marks a turning point in the focus of the program. It is now focused on highefficiency technologies and top crosscutting issues vs. our original singular focus on hybrids. Our aim in working with the fleets, vehicle OEMs, suppliers, military, policy makers and other stakeholders who participated in the meeting was three-fold: 1) To facilitate collaborative, actionoriented, enduring partnerships; 2) To forge a long-term relationship to evaluate and improve trucks and other commercial vehicles to speed commercialization of high-efficiency technologies; and

The CalHEAT Truck Market and Technology Transformation Roadmap, the action plan for clean truck technologies and commercialization strategies, has been completed. The Roadmap outlines 66 steps incorporated under three key pathways to clean and efficient trucks. The pathways include engine and driveline efficiencies, advanced electrification, and chassis, body and roadway systems. Forum attendees will dialog about next steps for implementing this roadmap to meet California’s clean air goals.
