Radiology And Fluoroscopy

Doctors of Podiatric Medicine will be able to attain a maximum of 6 Radiology Continuing Education Contact Hours (CECH) in the general sessions. When taking the free on-demand fluoroscopy course and attending all general sessions, a total of 10 Radiology CECH can be earned, including 4 Fluoroscopy CECH* to meet California Radiology Continuing Education requirements. A link to access this course will be available for registrants of The Western via the meeting app. To get the course for free, the code provided in the meeting app must be applied and the course completed by August 1.

NOTE: Continuing education credits are included in the Doctors’ General Sessions and may vary dependent upon which sessions and workshops are attended.

IMPORTANT

* Fluoroscopy units are offered in the free fluoroscopy on-demand course. Registration and successful completion of the course and quiz is required to earn the full 4 fluoroscopy CECH.

In accordance with the Council on Podiatric Medical Education (CPME), The Western is required to monitor educational session attendance for continuing education (CE) verification.

ONSITE ATTENDEES will have badges with QR codes and must scan their badges twice daily at designated times for credit.

VIRTUAL ATTENDEES must sign in twice daily for credit within the app.

All attendees will be provided transcripts reflecting only the number of Continuing Education Contact Hours earned by scanning/signing in for general sessions and/or attending workshops. To receive the maximum number of CECH, DPMs must verify their attendance at each of the posted scanning/sign-in times. If attending workshops roll calls must be signed to attain credit. Attendees who are registered for workshops or courses outside of general sessions or who miss scanning/sign-in times will have their total CECH adjusted accordingly.

Continuing education verification transcripts will be available online immediately after the meeting for general sessions. A copy will also be available in your CECH tab at thewestern.org by August 31, 2023. Each registrant is responsible for reporting attendance to all appropriate licensing boards and agencies requiring continuing education.

PLEASE NOTE: The transcript for the 4 Fluoroscopy contact hours will be available separately via the course website.

The Western cannot process CECH transcripts for those taking workshops prior to July as it takes time to process verification reports. If taking workshops and attending from a state which requires proof of attendance prior to July 1, please make a note of this.

Please Note

If you attend any workshops, your transcript will not reflect true CECH totals until The Western processes workshop attendance records after the meeting. Workshop attendees will be notified when a revised transcript is available. Please disregard the initial transcripts for any sessions presented while you were in a workshop. Please keep this in mind when registering for workshops.
