Welcome and thank you for attending Calne Town Councilʼs 2019 Summer Carnival! This yearʼs theme of ʻAround the World in A Dayʼ will highlight a few different cultures, traditions and beliefs from around the world. Each Ea event we host aims to highlight an element of being ʻsecretly educationalʼ, so we hope that maybe you discover something about a different culture that you didnʼt know before today!

STEEL BAND OLD POST OFFICE/HIGH STREET Make the most of the carnival by dancing along to the London Steel Band, performing outside the Old Post Office from 1:45pm bringing a feel of Jamaica to the day! Performances from 1:45pm
CHALK PAINTING OLD POST OFFICE/HIGH STREET Bring colour and beauty to the paving of the High Street by taking part in the Italian street painting. Children are welcome to colour the designated area and there will be a prize for the best piece of artwork!
EARTUNES RADIO MAIN STAGE
Be sure to support Calneʼs local radio station Eartunes, OUTSIDE THE LANSDOWNE STRAND who will be playing a cultural collection of music to accompany the day on the Main Stage!

ʻPip, Pipʼ and ʻWhat-Hoʼ, this is all very Typically British, isnʼt it? Well yes, it is. Youʼll find lots of fun to be had on The Wharf, including Donkey Rides, Calne Silver Band, Punch & Judy Shows, Bouncy Castle, Bowls, Cake, Games and lots of amazing stalls too! l
FOR CALNE IN BLOOM Make Cress/Flower heads and bug houses using recycled materials with Mrs. Potty at the childrenʼs activity zone, in support of Calne in Bloom 2019! Donʼt forget to pick up your flag trail entry form here too!

TOWN CRIER COMPETITION BEACH TERRACE
Showcasing the last bi-annual Calne Crier Competition, welcoming Criers from all over England to take part in this brilliant, truly traditional event. Why not pop along to Beach Terrace for all of the action! Competition begins from 11:00am
CALNE TWINNING ASSOCIATION
This year, we welcome representatives of our Twinning towns/countries Charlieu (Loire, France), Caln (Pennsylvania, USA) and Eningen unter Achalm (Germany), who will be joining the carnival procession. With 194 countries in the world and 7 continents, the there is so much to learn and know about cultures near and far. We hope today can be an insight and appreciation of more than just whatĘźs on our doorstep.

AID FIRST AND ASSISTANCE
Should you require first aid or assistance, please speak to a marshal with a hi-vis jacket, who will be able to assist. The designated event first aid area is at Church Street. Please also make children aware of the designated Lost Child Point at Calne Town Hall.
