CODA Update

Last thoughts. Besides General Music, my undergraduate and master's degrees were in voice and choir. I love to sing and inspire children to sing! That is why I volunteered to coordinate the San Diego Kids All Sing: Elementary Choir Workshop and culminating showcase on Saturday, May 7, 2022, hosted by the Southern California Vocal Association and the California Music Educators Association - Southern Border Section. Please invite your kids between the ages of 8 - 12 to participate in this simulated honor choir experience. Children will learn about singing in a vocal ensemble. The workshop is from 9:00 am - 3:00 pm. It includes a snack, lunch, drink, performance shirt, and fun social activities! From 3:30 - 4:00 pm, families are welcome to watch their kids and guest conductor/clinician Melva Joy Morrison showcase their learnings from the workshop. No audition, no experience, and firsttimers are welcome. The beauty of this event is that kids don't need to be active in a choir to participate. They can learn the music at the event. All they need is a desire to sing! REGISTER HERE: http://scvachoral.org/elementary_workshop.php

CODA would like to thank all of its membership, and all of the collaborative colleagues that helped to make CASMEC 2022 a success! The return of in-person All-State ensembles was such a joy - please do take a moment to enjoy a few short video clips from the incredible performances of our four All-State orchestras!
