Do you ever just look at a piece of art, film, or anything and wonder "hmm... I wonder what the person thought about when creating this piece " . Have you tried searching online about what message a certain film you have watched means? Asking questions about anything you have seen and experience is what we can call CRITICAL THINKING. Critical thinking allow us to take a. step back and look at the bigger picture. It is a skill that is essential for all of us to have. It allows to to make wise decisions and can also help us assess situations a lot better! However, improving critical thinking skills can sometimes be difficult. Not all people are able to see the bigger picture. Sometimes it would take me a lot of time to fully understand a certain thing whether it would be a particular lesson or film. BUT! that' s the very first step of critical thinking. TRYING! If you are able to engage your mind in these situations, your critical thinking skills will improve;)

Studio Ghilbli ' s world building and story telling is definitely one of the many things they excel at. When I was younger, I used to just watch their films because they were broadcasted on the television. I never really thought about the behind-the-scenes of studio Ghibli ' s works. Plus! I just found watching them really cool back then hihi. The stories that are being told through Studio Ghibli ' s films make many of their films more impactful towards their viewers. This can leave viewers open to different interpretations. I recently watched Howl' s moving castle and have heard numerous interpretations from my siblings and friends. Besides interpretation, the film writers also pull our heartstrings with some of their stories. We may feel hatred towards one character or get overly attached to them. Studio Ghibli shows its viewers that being able to construct a well thought story is also important and not just about the visuals.
Hayao Miyazaki, the animation director of studio Ghibli, once said: "Animators can only draw from their own experiences of pain and shock and emotions "
