The smart tool for EU proposal drafters and grant writers CallforEurope is a consultancy that provides for professional information and assistance on European Policies, Programmes and Public Calls. Our mission is to support transparent knowledge and easy access to all of the opportunities offered by EU Programmes. We think that giving fresh information on such themes is a valid lever for boosting European Union integration.
Our support is intended to: • offer technical information on how to access to and manage EU grants and projects; • make people find new transnational partnerships throughout Europe; • stimulate public debate on how to access to EU funds. INSTRUCTIONS FOR CONSULTATION ON SINGLE SYNOPSES
Programme
Public programmes that fund the specific call for proposals, according to specific policy objectives, and accompanied by specific working plans, financial regulations, etc.
Administration
Administrations, Institutions and/or Agencies, committed to the implementation of the programmes and funding of coherent initiatives and projects according to the single ongoing call for projects.
Objective
Public calls for projects generally include the general and specific objectives to be achieved by the funded initiatives. Objectives are coherent with the general ones defined by the funding programmes.
Eligible Activities
Projects are expected to be implemented through types of activities identified as eligible to public funding. In many cases, calls also list activitities and connected costs not eligible to public funding from a specific European programme.
Eligible Applicants
Entities eligible to apply for funding can be physical or legal persons. Legal persons can include public and/or private entities. In many cases, calls require applicants to form partnerships or legal consortia, with specific conditions for lead applicans, applicants and associate entities.

The present call targets projects on low-carbon technologies and processes in all sectors covered by Directive 2003/87/EC (the EU ETS Directive): Innovation in low-carbon technologies and processes in sectors listed in Annex I, including environmentally safe carbon capture and utilisation (‘CCU’) that contributes substantially to mitigating climate change,as well as products substituting carbon intensive ones produced in sectors listed in Annex I, environmentally safe capture and geological storage (‘CCS’) of CO2, and innovative renewable energy and energy storage technologies.

Objective
To celebrate the successful uptake and use of EU funded project results, thus boosting and promoting their achieved impact. To showcase best practices, create role models and inspire R&I beneficiaries to use their research results to create value for the society at large.
Eligible Activities
The Commission will award on an annual basis a recognition prize to reward beneficiaries that have successfully used their research results to create value for society. The beneficiaries must be able to show proof of effective exploitation and uptake of their research results. This action aims to illustrate the wider socio-economic benefits of the EU investment in R&I and to encourage project beneficiaries to best manage and use their research results. In particular, six winners will be selected by the evaluation jury for their achievements. The prizes are monetary and each of the six winners will receive EUR 25.000. The award enables individuals or teams to showcase their best practices and achievements. This will encourage other beneficiaries to use and manage their results in the best way possible.It aims to create role models and inspire beneficiaries of research and innovation funding to maximise the impact of their research.

Pave out possible avenues for the taking up of a novel growth framework to support inclusive and sustainable policies.

The RIA should support the transition towards a “sustainability paradigm”, identifying the socio-economic inequalities and the distribution of benefits of economic growth between individuals, also taking into account the environmental impacts and limits of such growth. The action should use macro and/or micro data to identify the distributive effects of economic growth in terms of income and wealth, identifying which population groups benefitted or not and the related determinants. Proposals should cover a broad range of European countries (also the regional dimension where appropriate), as well as a sufficient number of non-European countries (e.g. from Africa, Asia, Latin America, North America) for ensuring an international comparison of the analysis, thus international cooperation is strongly encouraged. Proposals should include any potential relationship that the transition towards a “sustainability paradigm” might have with notions of environmental justice and injustice, seeking out any individuals who might be negatively impacted by the transition and ensure the inclusion of their perspectives. The analysis may take into account the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic crisis.

Objective
The LIFE Regulation21 makes reference to the cooperation between the National Contact Points - NCP and recognizes their importance as a key actors of the LIFE programme to contribute to supporting applicants in the preparation phase of proposals; and during implementation of projects. aim to facilitate trans-national co-operation between LIFE National Contact Points (NCPs) with a view to identifying and sharing good practices and improving the support to LIFE programme applicants, thus increasing their successful participation; - give special attention to enhancing the competence of NCPs, including helping less experienced NCPs to rapidly acquire the know-how built up in other countries; - build, as far as possible, on the existing knowledge and tools generated by one or more the NCP, avoiding duplication and establishing synergies; - open up to the participation of all NCPs, including the ones from OCTs and non-EU countries (newly) associated to the LIFE Programme, and encourage the active involvement of each NCP; - organize yearly NCP Trainings; - cover the period of 2.5 years.

The project will, based on this analysis, propose a set of guidance/ recommendations on how PES schemes can be promoted in the EU funding programmes for the Multiannual Financial Framework post 2027
Building on existing actors and initiatives, the proposed project should: - consolidate the existing knowledge; - setting the reference for closing at EU-level the loop from clean organic matter to soil; - prepare a comprehensive EU guidance for regional and local administrations. This guidance should also be used to develop EU standards for bio-waste entering organic recycling processes, for compost and digestate, based on best available techniques. Eligible Activities
Providing a comprehensive dashboard comprising a coherent set of environmental performance indicators that allow measuring and managing the total impact and dependency (footprint) of a national or regional economy or sector for a given period and across the supply chain including all relevant key environmental areas ( e.g. air, water, land and biodiversity). - Develop synergies between the system of environmental economic accounts and corporate standardized natural capital management accounting practices being developed through the parallel LIFE funded (Transparent) programme responding to the European Green Deal call and promoted through the EU Business and Biodiversity.

Objective
to tackle the expertise of NGOs/CSOs to assist SMEs in their transition to more sustainable business models by funding practical projects/actions able to impact the environmental and/or social performance of the SMEs. This call is expected to help enhance interaction and improve collaboration between small- and medium-sized enterprises and NGOs/CSOs active in the same regions. The projects/actions will be implemented by consortia composed of interested SMEs, NGOs/CSOs and other relevant parties able to contribute to the implementation of the projects/actions. This call builds on the mission of the Enterprise Europe Network and gives to interested EEN members an additional tool to assist SMEs in their transition to more sustainable business models. Therefore, the projects/actions will be coordinated by an active EEN member. If successful, this project could be scaled up further to finance more projects/actions between SMEs and NGOs/CSOs.

Objective
The demand for high-quality health and care by European citizens is increasing. At the same time, there is an urgent need for cost-effectiveness in the context of an ageing society and growing numbers of chronically ill patients. Technologies based on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and robotics have the potential to improve the efficiency, security, and quality of the prevention, detection, diagnosis, treatment, care, rehabilitation and monitoring of European citizens’ health, as well as to promote a healthy lifestyle. The awarded project will develop the Testing and Experimentation Facility (TEF) with a focus on full integration, testing and validation of advanced AI-based technologies (e.g. IoT, MedIoT, Active and Assisted Living Technologies) and robotics technologies for health and care. The crucial need for a such facility was made obvious during the COVID-19 crisis, as many potential solutions to address the current needs were already prototyped or tested in labs but could not be deployed in emergency situations because of the lack of testing in real-life environments and the lack of certification.
Eligible Activities
Activities supported by this scheme will cover the demonstration, testing and validation in real-life application environment, possibly with real patients, but also ethical and data protection reviews, certification, market analysis, IP protection, incubation and business development, as well as the contribution to the regulation and standardization effort, when relevant. The infrastructure established within this facility will include both the hardware (e.g. robots, high-performance computers, 3D printing, IoT) and the software, including trusted and secured access to data, necessary to provide the different services. Links to the data space for health should be established, when necessary. The project is encouraged to collaborate with other relevant Digital Europe Programme projects, in particular the edge AI and other sectorial Testing and Experimentation Facilities, to ensure appropriate synergies. The project should allow for large-scale in-silico, in vitro, ex-vivo and in vivo testing, when relevant. Links should be made to existing structures and networks as appropriate.

The Capacity Building in Higher Education (CBHE) action supports international cooperation projects based on multilateral partnerships between organisations active in the field of higher education. It supports the relevance, quality, modernisation and responsiveness of higher education in third countries not associated to the Erasmus+ programme for socio-economic recovery, growth and prosperity and reacting to recent trends, in particular economic globalisation but also the recent decline in human development, fragility, and rising social, economic and environmental inequalities exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The action is expected to contribute to the overarching priorities of the European Commission: the Green Deal (including climate change, environment and energy), digital transformation and data technologies, alliances for sustainable growth and jobs, migration partnerships, and governance, peace and security and to the external dimension of EU internal policies in the field of education. It will support a successful green and sustainable global economic recovery in the third countries not associated to the Erasmus+ programme, linked to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Paris Agreement. The activities and outcomes of CBHE projects must be geared to benefit the eligible third countries not associated to the programme, their higher education institutions (HEI) and systems. This Strand is designed to attract less experienced HEIs and small-scale actors to the CBHE action to facilitate access to newcomer organisations. These partnerships should act as a first step for HEIs and organisations with a smaller operational capacity located in third countries not associated to the programme to access and increase means to reach out to people with fewer opportunities. This Strand will finance small-scale projects to reduce the internationalisation gap among HEIs from eligible third countries not associated to the programme, from the same country or Region. Projects should establish partnerships to develop cooperation ideas as well as to facilitate transfer of know-how, experience and good practices, fostering access to capacity building opportunities and improving social inclusion and the access of students/staff with fewer opportunities to a qualitative higher education offer.

Objective
The Capacity Building in Higher Education (CBHE) action supports international cooperation projects based on multilateral partnerships between organisations active in the field of higher education. It supports the relevance, quality, modernisation and responsiveness of higher education in third countries not associated to the Erasmus+ programme for socio-economic recovery, growth and prosperity and reacting to recent trends, in particular economic globalisation but also the recent decline in human development, fragility, and rising social, economic and environmental inequalities exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Eligible Activities
Projects under this Strand shall address the different state of advancement and challenges of HEIs located in eligible third countries not associated to the programme, enhance the impact of the programme and where relevant complement other sources of funding. They shall introduce new approaches and initiatives in higher education, based on peer learning and transfer of experience and good practice affecting not only the institutions but also the society at large. Partnerships for transformation in higher education are complex and innovative capacity building projects based on a transfer of experience, competencies and good practice with a range of interconnected activities that aim to strengthen the capacities of the targeted HEIs to address the 21st century challenges such as migration, climate change, governance and shifts towards a digital economy. The projects’ outcomes should have a significant and long-term impact on the targeted HEIs beyond the projects' lifetime and as such benefitting the society as a whole. In particular, these projects will combine the following elements for the benefit of HEIs in the third countries not associated to the Erasmus+ programme.

The objective of the Call is to foster the implementation of the EU Roma strategic framework on equality, inclusion and participation (EURSF) in the Member States. Hence, the Call will also actively contribute towards promoting equality and preventing and combating inequalities and discrimination on grounds of sex, racial or ethnic origin, religion or belief, disability, age or sexual orientation and respecting the principle of non-discrimination on the grounds provided for in Article 21 of the Charter.

mapping of all relevant stakeholders working on Roma equality, inclusion and participation and assessing the need and opportunity to include them in the National Roma Platform in order to increase representation and accountability; actions to set up and reinforce national Roma platforms, involving all relevant stakeholders (with particular attention to empowerment of women and youth), with a focus on implementing and monitoring National Roma Strategic Frameworks (NRSFs) for equality, inclusion and participation; meetings, working groups, seminars, events at national, regional or local levels, with discussion on topics such as the horizontal and sectoral objectives of the EURSF; awareness-raising, dedicated discussion of the results of the Roma Civil Monitoring up to 2025 on the implementation of NRSFs for equality, inclusion and participation; evaluation and review of NRSFs; and Roma inclusion measures, exchange and transfer of practices that proved effective at the all levels; transnational exchange between different National Roma Platforms to promote policy learning and transfer of good practices; exchange and participation of the nominated representative of the National Roma Platform in preparatory meetings on the European Platform for Roma Inclusion..

Objective

Eligible Activities
Volunteering under the European Voluntary Humanitarian Aid Corps49 (Humanitarian Aid Volunteering) takes place in third countries where there are ongoing humanitarian aid operations. This action gives the opportunity to young people aged 18 to 35 years old to contribute to society by short-term or long-term volunteering activities aimed at improving living conditions of people in need. These projects must be in line with the humanitarian aid principles of humanity, neutrality, impartiality and independence, as well as with the ‘do no harm’ principle.
