Objective
The targeted objective of FA2 is to take the major opportunity offered by digitalization and automation of rail operation and to develop the respective systems. This includes next generation Automatic Train Control (ATC), including Automated Train Operation (ATO) Grade of Automation (GoA) 4, building upon radio-based European Rail Traffic Management System (ERTMS) or above, representing the next evolution of the system, incorporating the latest technological advances, and with functionalities enabling full optimisation of performance in line with the Traffic Management improvements developed in FA1. FA2 will aim at delivering scalable automation in train operations with fully unattended train operations including setting a train in motion, driving and stopping the train, opening and closing the doors, remote train control and recovery operations in the event of disruptions..
Eligible Activities
The expected effects of FA2 are: • Reduce the cost of capacity, which is a major indirect catalyst for capacity optimisation. • Allow precise traffic flow management, supporting punctuality, reliability, and productivity improvements. • Allow the control of much higher train densities with a significantly reduced Life Cycle Cost (LCC) of CCS components compared to today. • Deliver scalable solutions fitting for high- and low-density lines, supporting the generation of largescale component markets and standardisable industrial asset management processes as well as to speed up the deployment and ensure long term evolvability of the system. .

NGI Assure is looking for building blocks that contribute to providing such assurances include (but are not limited to) quantum-proof cryptography, public key infrastructure, (augmented) authenticated key exchange, ratchet mechanisms (such as the Noise protocol) that securely chain key material, distributed hash tables and DAGs to make P2P interaction more secure, conflict-free replicated data types, mixnets and onion routing mechanisms, consensus protocols, distributed ledgers and (post) blockchain technologies that create redundant data sets managed independently by mutually distrustful parties, a priori usage control, symbolic and formal proofs, and tamperproof open hardware implementations of core cryptographic primitives. The work needs to become available under free and open source licenses. We are looking for deep tech components; the outcomes of NGI Assure shall contribute towards identifying and solving current issues, but do not need to provide a complete solution by themselves (although they may).

Objective
Adoption and efficacy of primary cancer prevention programmes in real-life has been insufficient, due to factors related to local context, such as organisation and digitalisation of healthcare services, resources, cultural, and geographical situation. To appropriately adapt interventions and scale-up to different geographical, economic and cultural settings, proposals should aim at delivering results through implementation research[3], which are directed, tailored towards and contributing to all of the following expected outcomes: Citizens will benefit from the outcomes of evidence-based, tailored and affordable primary prevention programmes targeting known cancer risk factors and health determinants, including behavioural factors, that are tailored to the specific needs of local communities and effectively adopted; Healthcare professionals and patient organisations will be able to provide evidence-based information targeted at individuals and families on cancer prevention, including through vaccination, improved health literacy, issuing of better guidelines and counselling; Regional and national policymakers and authorities will engage in implementing and scaling-up the most suitable prevention programmes, including possible legislative policies.
Eligible Activities
Proposals should address all of the following: Focus on implementation and upscaling of evidence-based primary cancer prevention interventions, at local, regional or national level, addressing known risk or protective factors and determinants[4]. Proposals should clearly justify and describe the existing evidence supporting the chosen intervention, including evidence of cost-effectiveness and affordability, across health or other sectors. As effective prevention includes behavioural change, due consideration should be given to the factors that facilitate or impede behavioural change. Identify and address the bottlenecks and barriers that might influence uptake and implementation of cancer prevention programmes in accessible, affordable and equitable ways, and their impact in a defined public health context. Provide evidence and recommendations to inform policy and decision-makers and propose a pathway to integrate the intervention into local, regional or national health systems, policies and practices.

Fellowships should be provided to excellent researchers[1], undertaking cross-border mobility either to or between EU Member States or Horizon Europe Associated Countries. Applications are expected to be made jointly by the researcher together with a beneficiary in the academic or non-academic sector located in a Widening Country. ERA Fellowships should take place in a Widening Country. Fellowships are open to researchers of any nationality who wish to engage in R&I projects by either coming to Europe from any country in the world or moving within Europe to a Widening Country.

Objective
To support scaling up of companies in Europe, the EIC is seeking to build synergies with the wider European startup ecosystem via a second wave of actions under the Commission’s Startup Europe initiative. The actions will act as a catalyst to fulfil the potential of European startups, in delivering market-ready applications and technology solutions that can contribute to the competitiveness and strategic autonomy of EU industry in key technology areas and value chains.
Eligible Activities
Actions will reinforce the activities of the European Innovation Council by targeting digital and deep tech startups that have received support from EIC to support their scale up in Europe. The actions can support also deep tech startups not yet been supported by the EIC, including startups that have already received private investment or EU funding (e.g. under Horizon Europe or the Digital Europe Programme), and raise their awareness of the opportunities on offer from the EIC. It is foreseen that the targeted startup communities will contribute to development of applications that foster climate-neutrality, digital and circular economy, clean industry and user-centric technology development, while also encouraging inclusiveness, and incorporating European social and ethical values. Connecting local digital and deep tech startup ecosystems and supporting crossborder acceleration activities for startups. Among the startups ecosystems to be connected, specific attention will be given to including of ecosystems in Widening countries. Actions should also ensure the integration of startups with the Digital Europe Programme (for example from European Digital Innovation Hubs), the non-EIC parts of Horizon Europe (for example leveraging the Innovation Radar intelligence) and national programmes targeting startups.

Objective
EIC Transition aims at maturing both your technology and business idea thus increasing its technology and market readiness. This topic has no predefined thematic priorities and is open to proposals in any field of science, technology or application. For any chosen field, EIC Transition projects should address, in a balanced way, both technology and market/business development, possibly including iterative learning processes based on early customer or user feedback. These activities should include, subject to the level of maturity of the technology, a suitable mix of research, technology development and validation activities to increase the maturity of the technology beyond proof of principle to viable demonstrators of the technology in the intended field of application (i.e. up to Technology Readiness Level 5 or 6). EIC Transition funds innovation activities that go beyond the experimental proof of principle in laboratory. It supports both the maturation and validation of a novel technology from the lab to the relevant application environments (by making use of prototyping, formulation, models, user testing or other validation tests) as well as explorations and development of a sustainable business case and business model towards commercialisation.
Eligible Applicants
A single legal entity established in a Member State or an Associated Country (‘monobeneficiary’) if you are an SME or a research performing organisation (university, research or technology organisation, including teams, individual Principle Investigators and inventors in such institutions who intend to form a spinout company). The objective of the EUCF is to build a substantial pipeline of sustainable energy investment projects across municipalities/local authorities (or their groupings) in Europe, by providing support to the development of investment concepts.
Eligible Activities
The investment concepts will represent an initial step towards fully-fledged business and financial plans and facilitate the subsequent mobilization of (local) investments in energy efficiency and renewable energy. The types of activities that qualify for receiving financial support are activities which are necessary for the development of investment concepts, such as feasibility studies, engineering analyses, legal analyses, social studies, market studies, financial analyses, and further supporting tasks. The grant amount can be used for in-house staff, for external experts/sub-contractors or for other expenses that are required for the investment concept development.
Eligible Applicants
The EUCF funding is open to municipalities/local authorities, groupings of municipalities/ local authorities, and local public entities aggregating municipalities/local authorities from all EU Member States, the EEA-EFTA States of Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway, and the United Kingdom. It must be demostrated the existence of: - Sustainable Energy Action Plan (SEAP), Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plan (SECAP) developed within the Covenant of Mayors for Climate & Energy initiative, formally approved both by the local council (or equivalent decision-making body) and Joint Research Centre of the European Commission; - plan of similar ambition: a politically approved climate and energy plan with energy and climate targets at least for the year 2020

Eligible Activities
The topic is contributing to the activities of the AU-EU High Level Policy Dialog (HLPD) Climate Change and Sustainable Energy (CCSE) partnership. Current models are based on developed country standard and usage. The development of energy system models tailored to the specific African social, economic and regulatory environment is crucial for energy generation system planning and for energy policy development. Today African countries are relying heavily on developed country models and expertise. Therefore, the proposal should develop and test models for decision makers and planners to design and evaluate energy system(s) with a high penetration of renewable energy generation in African countries through a regional approach. Considerations are to be given to climate neutrality of cities and industries, using no fossil fuels. A focus should be made on the introduction of clean energy technologies. The tests should be done for at least two base cases. Proposals should include activities to coordinate with the project(s) to be selected under the topic HORIZON-CL5-2021-D3-03-01. Actions should promote the highest standards of transparency in model adoption, including assumptions, architecture, code and data. The outcome of the project should be widely disseminated and all the source codes of the whole model to be open source and open access to stimulate future development. To ensure future uses, African experts in energy and in models development should be full partners in the project.

GALACTICA aims to support the creation of new industrial value chains around textile and aerospace based on advanced manufacturing across EU by the development of long-term internationally competitive goods and services that require combining different competences and innovative solutions.

In the framework of this GALACTICA project call, two different types of vouchers are offered. The vouchers will be addressed to SMEs with innovative solutions that could be part of a cross sectoral and cross border value chains in the sectors of aerospace, textile and advanced manufacturing. Voucher types offered: Pioneer Acceleration Voucher. Scope: The main goal is to support the exploration of new cross-sectoral value chains feasibility with focus on developing a Minimum Viable Product (MVP1) connecting two or more of the sectors (aerospace, textile, advanced manufacturing). Eligible Activities
The present MIND4MACHINES Call funds the development, testing, validation and market uptake of INDUSTRY 4.0 solutions by increasing the TRL level/maturity of the proposed solutions in delivering innovative goods, services and processes. Complementary to the grants received from the MIND4MACHINES Open Calls, funded SMEs will benefit from tailor-made acceleration support services. These services will be delivered by the project partners in the shape of training, coaching and mentoring sessions to support the maturity increase of the proposed Industry 4.0 idea as well as the business development of the SME applicant. The selection of the acceleration services will be performed after the closure of the Open Call, based on the results of the Investment Readiness Level (IRL) self-assessment online tool. The applicants are required to fill in the IRL self-assessment prior to their application.
Eligible Applicants
Project proposals can be submitted individually by one single applicant as a technology provider SME or by a partnership of multiple applicants as technology provider SMEs for complex solutions. At least one industry partner has to be identified in each proposal. Cross-border partnerships are strongly encouraged.

Objective
The global objective of this call for proposals is: to strengthen civil society organizations (CSOs) in China as independent actors of good governance and development in their own right, to contribute to an inclusive, participatory, empowered and independent civil society and democratic space in partner countries, allowing an open dialogue with and between CSOs. The specific objective(s) of this call for proposals are: 1. Strengthen civil society partners’ institutional and operational capacity, networking, advocacy and research.; 2. Enabling and ensuring their participation in an informed, inclusive and constructive policy dialogue at local and national level in China; and 3. Improving the enabling environment for operations of civil society, and improve capacity and ability for local civil society to achieve this.

Objective
The global objective of this call for proposals is to contribute to the building of a close and stable partnership with the United Kingdom. The specific objective of this call for proposals is to improve the European Union’s engagement across the United Kingdom with key target audiences and potential partners.
Eligible Activities
- foster dialogue between young people and their organisations in general, and specifically on the priority area topics; - build initiatives between various youth groups and organisations within the United Kingdom – both in London / British metro areas and beyond – and in the European Union; - facilitate exchange through new, innovative and immersive methods, online and in person; - foster dialogue and cooperation between local communities of EU citizens and their organisations in general, and on the priority areas specifically; - build relations with local British communities and the wider British society; - create and / or strengthen local, regional and national networks; contribute to their long term sustainability;
Eligible Applicants
be a legal person, and be established in a Member State of the European Union or in the United Kingdom, and be a specific type of organisation such as: non-governmental organisation, social enterprise, think tank, research/academic institution, cultural institution, media organisation, local/community group, trade and business association, other civil society organisations or networks of such organisations
