The smart tool for EU proposal drafters and grant writers CallforEurope is a consultancy that provides for professional information and assistance on European Policies, Programmes and Public Calls. Our mission is to support transparent knowledge and easy access to all of the opportunities offered by EU Programmes. We think that giving fresh information on such themes is a valid lever for boosting European Union integration.

Our support is intended to: • offer technical information on how to access to and manage EU grants and projects; • make people find new transnational partnerships throughout Europe; • stimulate public debate on how to access to EU funds. Our ambition is to serve as a technical resource center. We want to serve primarily those that usually work on writing applications and

managing projects through European funding. The European Parliament is going to fund initiatives promoting a European Youth Event on 2023 including art and music performances together with debates on the future of Europe. The Driving Urban Transition (DUT) Partnership funds research and/ or innovation projects on urban sustainable transition. A Science Journalism initiative is proposed by the European Research Council to facilitate contacts between journalists and research institutions. Unlocking of financial resources for investments into climate resilience

Projects results are expected to contribute to all of the following expected outcomes: An increased leveraging of finance into climate resilience investments in the context of the Mission Adaptation to Climate Change. An increased and improved range of investment concepts that are proven to have helped public authorities in leveraging finance into climate resilience investments. An increased capacity of public authority staff for developing investible climate resilience projects. A better understanding of mechanisms that would accelerate the transformation of the economic system and financial sector to internalise and reward climate resilient investments. This topic is expected to support regions and communities participating in the Mission with developing investment strategies, including identifying, innovating and, to the extent possible testing, solutions that help to mobilise financing and resources, throughout their transformational journey to climate resilience. The applied research and the experimentation with innovative solutions as further outlined below should be at the centre of the project.

Eligible Activities

To address these challenges, the proposal is expected to: Provide direct pragmatic, hands-on advisory support to the regions and communities on how to mobilise, access and combine in practice various financing sources for climate resilience. Undertake research and test innovative financing solutions using the activities ongoing in the regions and communities as case studies to better understand their success factors and boundary conditions and to explore and experiment with new innovative ways of mobilising and financing for climate resilience, feeding this information back to all regions and communities. While undertaking the above, to ensure synergies between the Mission and other relevant programmes and initiatives engaged in mobilisation and articulation of finances for climate resilience transformations at local, national, and European level and to share relevant knowledge and experience made in the Mission more broadly.

Projects are expected to contribute to all of the following outcomes: Better access to, and transformation of, the already openly available climate data in the C3S Climate Data Store[1], Climate ADAPT and relevant Horizon 2020 projects or other initiatives (such as GEOSS[2]) into user-relevant climate change services, in combination with locally sourced data and information, where available. Long-term safeguarding of developed solutions by integration in the operational infrastructure and services of the Climate Data Store should also be explored. Beyond-state-of-the-art relevant information (including climate, socio-economic, demographic information) services and tools tailored to Mission users’ needs (decision makers, local and regional authorities and other end users), with customizable datamanipulation tools available for use and re-use. Quality-controlled climate data services that the Mission could build upon, supported and maintained as customizable, user-oriented components of operationally supported EU services (such as the C3S). Projects might want to refer to, and follow guidance, from the project under the topic on “Supporting and standardising climate services”[3]. Tested FAIR data governance and management mechanisms that enable the sharing, community validation and use of locally sourced data (e.g. citizen-generated data) and information, in combination with authoritative data and information as part of the European Green Deal Data Space. Demonstrated application in at least 5 EU regions or communities

The successful proposal will develop new technologies addressing access to key climate data and information services; such technologies will use improved user-defined and user-friendly tools tailored to regional and community level applications for adaptation to climate change able to build climate resilience in all sectors/services involved; the focus will be on case-specific climatological and physical conditions critical for the areas mentioned in the Mission Implementation Plan[

Objective

The EIC Scaleup 100 should help identify a cohort of 100 deep-tech companies from the portfolio of EIC supported startups as well as from similar programmes at EU level (such as the Digital Europe Programme and the EIT) and at Member State and Associated Country level, with the potential to scale up as global leaders or potential unicorns. Taking into account the diversity of national programmes, this action is also open to companies not being supported by national programmes as long as they meet the requirements for scaling up.

Eligible Activities

The proposed action will focus on EIC beneficiaries on one hand and European scaleups not currently benefitting from direct EIC support on the other hand. Both categories have to be ready for series B+ funding rounds. It is estimated that at least 50 companies would be identified from the EIC portfolio and up to 50 from other programmes at EU, Member State and Associated Country level, or supported by other relevant EU programmes or private initiatives, ensuring a geographical, and sector diversity. Particular attention should be paid to attracting women-led companies. The proposal will have to describe their methodology, both for identifying the supported companies and for scaling them up, the concrete set of proposed actions for scaling up and argument, why the action is proposed and is suitable for scaling up European companies.

Eligible Applicants

The selected entity or consortium should have the knowledge, expertise and means, to foster substantial growth of deep-tech and digital European scaleups that will increase their number and value of commercial deals, investments deals and initial public offerings (IPOs)/acquisitions of the cohort.

Support deep tech innovation as a basis for a modern, knowledge-driven, resourceefficient and competitive economy; Promote female leadership in the deep tech industry to build fairer, more inclusive, and more prosperous innovation ecosystems in Europe.

Eligible Activities

Women TechEU targets highly innovative start-ups founded, or co-founded by women, holding a top management position (CEO, CTO or equivalent) in the company at the time of submission. The company must be registered and established in an EU Member State or a Horizon Europe Associated Country for at least six months at the time of the submission. All deep techdomains are eligible, with the emphasis being on overall gender balance and the position held by women in the start-up. Supportprovided to Women TechEU beneficiaries under this initiative is made up of the following components: - financial support to the company as an individual grant of EUR 75 000 supporting activities such as evaluating and refining products/services, design, user experience, upgrading the business model, updating the business plan and growth strategy, finding partners and investors, market validation, etc.; - mentoring and coaching provided by the EIC Business Acceleration Services (BAS), under the new ‘Women Leadership Programme’, which includes dedicated networking and pitching events; - the possibility to participate in dedicated activities organised by InvestEU and the Enterprise Europe Network (EEN).

Eligible Applicants

Participation is limited to early-stage deep tech start-ups founded, or co-founded by women, holding a top management position (CEO, CTO or equivalent) in the company at the time of submission. The applying legal entity must be registered and established in an EU Member State or a Horizon Europe Associated Country for at least six months at the time of the submission. The defined scenario must be addressed by developing a solution that adopts one or more services selected from the KYKLOS 4.0 platform, which should be integrated and validated as part of the defined experiment. Proposed solutions should demonstrate a high innovation potential and be ready to explore commercialisation opportunities by the end of the experiment period. The Open Call #2 will have a single phase where a minimum of 14 proposals will be selected. The maximum amount of funding per awarded consortia of 2-3 entities (a consortium must be led by an SME) is €150.000 (maximum of €60.000 per third party, with other specific rules applying for each type of entity).

The ERC wishes to support an organisation or a consortium of organisations to set up a funding scheme that would facilitate 3-5-month stays of journalists at research institutions. Eligible Activities

The topic is contributing to the activities of the AU-EU High Level Policy Dialog (HLPD) Climate Change and Sustainable Energy (CCSE) partnership. Current models are based on developed country standard and usage. The development of energy system models tailored to the specific African social, economic and regulatory environment is crucial for energy generation system planning and for energy policy development. Today African countries are relying heavily on developed country models and expertise. Therefore, the proposal should develop and test models for decision makers and planners to design and evaluate energy system(s) with a high penetration of renewable energy generation in African countries through a regional approach. Considerations are to be given to climate neutrality of cities and industries, using no fossil fuels. A focus should be made on the introduction of clean energy technologies. The tests should be done for at least two base cases. Proposals should include activities to coordinate with the project(s) to be selected under the topic HORIZON-CL5-2021-D3-03-01. Actions should promote the highest standards of transparency in model adoption, including assumptions, architecture, code and data. The outcome of the project should be widely disseminated and all the source codes of the whole model to be open source and open access to stimulate future development. To ensure future uses, African experts in energy and in models development should be full partners in the project.

Objective

The global objective of this call for proposals is to enhance CSOs contribution to sustainable development and good governance in the Eastern Caribbean. The specific objective of this call for proposals is: To improve the protection and inclusion of marginalised and vulnerable groups in the Eastern Caribbean.

Eligible Activities

• Enabling civil society participation in and contribution to policy dialogue and decision-making processes at all levels, as well as their role as efficient implementing partners, advocates, and watchdogs of policy implementation and support (national, international or EU). • Supporting CSO organisational capacity related to internal governance; programme, project and financial management; advocacy etc. • Supporting CSO sector-specific technical, research, analysis and advocacy capacity. • Supporting CSO effectiveness, accountability and transparency. • Foster strong institutional and political links between local, community and national levels including the strengthening of partnerships and networks of CSOs to promote coordination, collaboration and exchange.

Eligible Applicants

• be a legal person and • be non-profit-making and • be a specific type of organisation such as: non-governmental organisation or local authority and • be established in a Member State of the European Union or where the action takes place (in Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Dominica, Grenada, St Kitts and Nevis, St Lucia, St Vincent and the Grenadines) or in other CARIFORUM country.
