The smart tool for EU proposal drafters and grant writers CallforEurope is a consultancy that provides for professional information and assistance on European Policies, Programmes and Public Calls. Our mission is to support transparent knowledge and easy access to all of the opportunities offered by EU Programmes. We think that giving fresh information on such themes is a valid lever for boosting European Union integration.

Our support is intended to: • offer technical information on how to access to and manage EU grants and projects; • make people find new transnational partnerships throughout Europe; • stimulate public debate on how to access to EU funds. Our ambition is to serve as a technical resource center. We want to serve primarily those that usually work on writing applications and

managing projects through European funding. Call them “Euro-drafters” or “Euro-experts”: in any case, their activity demands high specialization and a constant updating on European policies, programs and public calls. The Single Market Programme intends to fund initiatives to facilitate local, regional or national partnerships between Social Economy Ecosystems and private businesses. INSTRUCTIONS FOR CONSULTATION ON SINGLE SYNOPSES

Programme

Public programmes that fund the specific call for proposals, according to specific policy objectives, and accompanied by specific working plans, financial regulations, etc.

Administration

Administrations, Institutions and/or Agencies, committed to the implementation of the programmes and funding of coherent initiatives and projects according to the single ongoing call for projects.

Objective

Public calls for projects generally include the general and specific objectives to be achieved by the funded initiatives. Objectives are coherent with the general ones defined by the funding programmes.

Eligible Activities

Projects are expected to be implemented through types of activities identified as eligible to public funding. In many cases, calls also list activitities and connected costs not eligible to public funding from a specific European programme.

Support deep tech innovation as a basis for a modern, knowledge-driven, resourceefficient and competitive economy; Promote female leadership in the deep tech industry to build fairer, more inclusive, and more prosperous innovation ecosystems in Europe.

Eligible Activities

Women TechEU targets highly innovative start-ups founded, or co-founded by women, holding a top management position (CEO, CTO or equivalent) in the company at the time of submission. The company must be registered and established in an EU Member State or a Horizon Europe Associated Country for at least six months at the time of the submission. All deep techdomains are eligible, with the emphasis being on overall gender balance and the position held by women in the start-up. Supportprovided to Women TechEU beneficiaries under this initiative is made up of the following components: - financial support to the company as an individual grant of EUR 75 000 supporting activities such as evaluating and refining products/services, design, user experience, upgrading the business model, updating the business plan and growth strategy, finding partners and investors, market validation, etc.; - mentoring and coaching provided by the EIC Business Acceleration Services (BAS), under the new ‘Women Leadership Programme’, which includes dedicated networking and pitching events; - the possibility to participate in dedicated activities organised by InvestEU and the Enterprise Europe Network (EEN).

Participation is limited to early-stage deep tech start-ups founded, or co-founded by women, holding a top management position (CEO, CTO or equivalent) in the company at the time of submission. Objective

The objective of this topic is twofold. On one hand to deploy advanced national quantum systems and networks for testing quantum communication technologies and for integrating them with existing communication networks. On the other hand to use these quantum systems and networks for developing and testing use cases in support of national QCI initiatives in the context of the EuroQCI initiative. This support is needed to contribute to European technological autonomy in the highly strategic field of quantum communication technologies.

Eligible Activities

In each participating Member State, the project should include the following activities: Deploying advanced experimental quantum systems and networks combining the best of quantum and classical security technologies. Where possible, using pilot devices, technologies and systems developed and manufactured in the EU, in order to support their further development towards maturity and their compliance with the EuroQCI’s security needs. The aim is to prepare the large-scale uptake and use of such systems and technologies, operating in traditional telecommunications networs, Including, where relevant, existing TESTA infrastructure by national stakeholders and their first use in advanced use cases in different application scenarios: targeting firstly public use cases by linking public authorities within the country; making these quantum networks available to industries operating the network’s different layers contributing to developing nationalbased production chains for supplying critical quantum communication components and systems; making these quantum systems and networks available for educational purposes providing a training environment for technical and research staff as well as national users from public authorities or other organisations. Demonstrating first longdistance quantum communication networks (including, for example, quantum internet demonstrators) compatible with the overall EuroQCI system architecture, in order to prepare the large-scale deployment of a QCI spanning the EU;

The objective of the KYKLOS4.0 – Open Call #2 is to accelerate innovation in the digital manufacturing domain by facilitating the implementation of projects led by SMEs and with the participation of an industrial partner. The objective of the open call is fund the development of innovative solutions to improve digital manufacturing processes. Applicants will be required to select, integrate and validate one or more of KYKLOS 4.0 services and respective technological components as part of their experiments.

Eligible Activities

KYKLOS 4.0 - Open Call #2 invites proposals for the development of an innovative solution(s) for a manufacturing scenario in which they will have to carry out a pilot experiment in a manufacturing environment. The defined scenario must be addressed by developing a solution that adopts one or more services selected from the KYKLOS 4.0 platform, which should be integrated and validated as part of the defined experiment. Proposed solutions should demonstrate a high innovation potential and be ready to explore commercialisation opportunities by the end of the experiment period. The Open Call #2 will have a single phase where a minimum of 14 proposals will be selected. The maximum amount of funding per awarded consortia of 2-3 entities (a consortium must be led by an SME) is €150.000 (maximum of €60.000 per third party, with other specific rules applying for each type of entity).

Enable the creation of a European community of academic and research champions in institutional transformation towards inclusive gender equality. Strengthening of the inclusiveness and connectivity objectives under the new European Research Area. Award and certification schemes implemented in different countries, in the EU and beyond, have been shown to be useful tools for advancing gender equality in academic, research and innovation organisations, with some awarding schemes effectively being used as drivers for competition in attracting students and researchers and/or as prerequisite for having access to funding.

Eligible Activities

The Prize will be awarded to up to four academic or research organisations, and contestants can apply to one among the following three prize categories: Sustainable Gender Equality Champions: Organisations that can demonstrate a significant and sustained record of activity and a high level of achievement through the implementation of their GEP; Newcomer Gender Equality Champions: Organisations that have recently started implementing a GEP and can demonstrate the most progress in its implementation and achieved results; Inclusive Gender Equality Champions: Organisations that have developed the most innovative inclusive GEP addressing intersections with other social categories such as ethnicity, social origin, sexual orientation and gender identity (LGBTI+) or disability.

The objective of this action is to develop and deploy the AI-on-demand platform, building on the results from the project implementing the AI-on-demand preparatory action, providing the requirements and underlying mechanisms for such platform.

Eligible Activities

The awarded project will develop and deploy the AI-on-demand platform in close cooperation with the project implementing the preparatory action, taking into account the proposed requirements and mechanisms to optimise the impact of the AI-ondemand platform. The platform will gather all the AI resources (algorithms and tools), and make them available to the potential users, businesses and public administration, with the necessary services to facilitate their integration. Activities shall build on results from the preparatory action, as well as previous relevant projects such as the AI-ondemand ecosystem under H2020 (AI-on-demand platform and ICT-49 projects19) and Horizon Europe (AI-on-demand platform), and the European Language Grid initiated under Horizon 2020. In addition, the platform should mobilise the European innovators to provide their products and services on the platform. The platform should become the reference for any user (industry or public service), a one-stopshop to access AI tools to integrate into solutions, products, and services: a common good and market place for AI resources.

Data sharing among manufacturing companies and with (service) providers will be increased by the deployment of two data spaces of the manufacturing industry, which will demonstrate how sharing industrial data improves company operations (1) across supply chains and (2) using deep industrial data within production environments, enhances business opportunities for industrial data value added services, and supports the transition towards a circular economy. Manufacturing data spaces and their AI-based analytics and optimisation applications can influence company-internal processes as well as processes across organisations. On the basis of the preparatory actions, the main objective is to deploy two operational data spaces across value chains in the manufacturing sector, which enable companies in different user roles (e.g. supplier, client, service provider) to interact with large amounts of industrial data across their organisational borders.

Eligible Activities

The action calls for the deployment of two operational data spaces of the manufacturing industry, building on the results of the preparatory actions. The projects should have sufficient activities to lead to sustainability at the end of the action, as identified in the preparatory actions mentioned above. Such data spaces will offer a secure and trustworthy way of making data usable between supplier and user companies on the basis of voluntary agreements. Starting from existing ‘embryonic’ data spaces with manufacturing companies, their data sharing will be completed, deepened, expanded, and/or enlarged with other organisations (e.g. reuse, repairing, remanufacturing, refurbishing or recycling companies in order to improve circularity) and gradually integrated into the Data Space Technical Infrastructure.

Meeting local and seasonal energy demands in agriculture and forestry with optimum agricultural and forest waste management and use while reducing the associated emissions is essential. If not managed, agricultural waste is often burnt in the fields and forests suffer from fires, thus increasing the environmental footprint of agriculture and forests. Soil and biodiversity improvement in agriculture could also benefit from renewable energy technologies. Demonstrating incorporation of renewable energy technologies to attain heat, waste and land management needs in agricultural and forestry will contribute to increase the penetration of renewable sources in the energy system and enable transformation of the energy supply across critical energy-consuming sectors, thus accelerating the achievement of the European Green Deal and climate and energy targets for 2030 and of net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, while supporting the EU goals for energy independence and economic growth. Furthermore, it will support achieving the specific objective of the post 2020 Common Agricultural Policy[1] regarding contribution to climate change mitigation and adaptation, as well as sustainable energy. Project results are expected to contribute to some of the following expected outcomes: Promote decentralised renewable energy use and cost-efficient decentralized production of renewable energy carriers. Reduce agriculture and forestry carbon footprint from own energy consumption and agricultural/forest waste management. Increase sustainability and circularity in agriculture while creating positive effects on biodiversity. Increase sustainability and circularity in forestry. Foster regional development in rural areas. Support farmers’ and foresters’ engagement as prosumers of renewable energy.

Eligible Activities

Proposals should demonstrate incorporation of renewable energy technologies in agriculture or forestry to meet its electricity, heat, cold, waste and land management needs. Solutions should combine innovative renewable, circular and regional value chains from different renewables and adapted storage options to de-fossilize agricultural or forest processes trans-seasonally, taking into account hybridization compatibility. They should also address one of the two options:

Transformation of agricultural or forest wastes to renewable energy carriers in situ, e.g. by modular slow pyrolysis units, using renewable energy for process energy needs. Solutions should improve the cost-effectiveness and the sustainability of agriculture or forest seasonal energy demand based on renewables. Development of renewable-based agricultural protocols for multiple and cover cropping and/ or mixed cropping which increase carbon sequestration and soil organic matter and reduce pesticides, combined with transformation to renewable energy carriers in situ, e.g. by biogas production, in a circular approach for soil nutrients and carbon. Positive effects on soil biodiversity/soil health and soil functionality as regards increasing soil organic matter, phosphorus and other nutrients and reducing the risk on groundwater contamination from nitrogen oxides should be assessed. Solutions should improve the cost-effectiveness and the sustainability (including biodiversity) of agricultural waste and land management through valorisation of wastes and secondary crops based on renewable energy technologies.

Objective

This topic aims to increase the level of energy performance reached after building renovation and the number of ‘deep renovations’. This requires addressing the obstacles to deep renovation, which are present at different levels. When deep renovation cannot be implemented in one step, staged deep renovation is an option which should be promoted through public policies. It implies that the measures implemented comply with a long-term deep renovation strategy for the building, thus avoiding lock-in effects. Renovation passports are essential to support staged deep renovation and the proposal for an EPBD recast sets up a framework for their introduction by Member States. Their roll-out needs to be supported in close link with energy performance certificates and one-stop-shops for building renovation.

Eligible Activities

Proposals should increase the uptake of deep renovation, by addressing one of the following areas; addressing several areas does not necessarily increase the relevance of the proposal. Regardless of the area(s) chosen, proposals should be well tailored to the action context in terms of building segment(s) and typology(ies), climatic zone(s), and legal, administrative, economic, market related or social conditions, and well aligned with the national and/or local initiatives in place or under development. While the legislative framework offers a good amount of flexibility to Member States to design the policy measures according to their needs and framework conditions, accurate monitoring, projecting and evaluation are essential elements of implementation. Importantly, the legislation is strongly interrelated and needs to be implemented and reported in an integrated, consistent way. The impact of supply chains on wider society and the environment is in sharper focus than ever before. Companies are increasingly looking to their purchasing power as an opportunity to go beyond compliance and actively pursue positive social and environmental outcomes. The development of a “Buy Social movement” over the last years has seen public authorities, businesses and consumers increasingly seeking out opportunities to buy from social enterprises. The action will support the creation of local and regional partnerships aiming at reinforcing policy initiatives to improve collaboration in EU 27 (and other countries eligible to participate in the programme) between social economy entities and mainstream businesses in their supply chain strategies. In particular, these partnerships will aim at helping mainstream businesses to engage with a range of social economy suppliers and embeds sustainability and diversity into their core operations and value chains. It will also help social enterprises to grow their revenues and impact by tapping into corporate purchasing power.

Eligible Activities

This call for proposals focusses mainly on the transactional cooperation such as outsourcing of certain processes or services and buying of services and products. Establishment of such solid trade relationships (through B2B markets) can potentially evolve into more integrated and longer-term partnerships. it is important to enhance the capacity of social economy enterprises and SMEs and facilitate their access to ‘private procurement’ or buy social engagements. In particular, there is a need for further systematic integration in mainstream businesses’ value chains and development of structured partnerships (e.g. bid jointly for public procurement calls, piloting new projects, joint R&D, skills programs). This call for proposals aims to support actions that enhance an information flow, mutual understanding and learning perspectives between ‘regular’ and SE enterprises, and promote local, regional or national partnerships engaging SE representatives and mainstream business representatives (such as federations, sector federations or similar supporting organisations) and public authorities to foster the creation of “buy social” B2B markets at local, regional, national or cross-border level. The following types of activities (the list is non-exhaustive) can be implemented by consortia on local, regional, national or cross-border level: − Provide branding of SE towards corporate buyers in specific local contexts. The branding should focus on raising the profile of concrete SE operating in the proximity and social economy ecosystem. The aim is to showcase and communicate the added value of engaging with SE actors. − Setting up a centralised “buy social” (online) platform that makes it possible to make the offer of social enterprises known. This can be developed from very basic to very advanced functionalities. For example, mapping sectoral, product or service offer, partnerships such as for public procurement, or conducting market analysis.
