Objective
The overall goal of the Mission on Cancer[1] and the Europe’s Beating Cancer Plan[2] includes a better quality of life for patients and their families living with, and after, cancer. Project results will support the creation of a virtual European Cancer Patient Digital Centre (ECPDC), which is a federated network of patient controlled (national) health data infrastructures enabling the voluntary exchange of patients and survivors’ health data in a standardised approach, for primary and secondary use.
Eligible Activities
Proposals should address the existing challenges and develop a roadmap towards the creation of the ECPDC as a virtual, federated network of national infrastructures of patient-controlled health data (‘national or regional nodes’), taking into account synergies with the future UNCAN.eu platform, integrated within a larger European network of infrastructures, to which each Member State should have a single access portal. The proposals should draw on existing expertise at the EU[3] and national level and on EU- and Member State/Associated Country-tailored procedures for access, use and re-use of patient data. Moreover, synergies with the European Network of Cancer Registries[4] should be established to ensure the ECPDC will create an ecosystem on knowledge of cancer. It could also include a call centre function. In particular, proposals should take account of the results of a recently launched call on a pilot project for an EU infrastructure ecosystem for the secondary use of health data for research, policy-making and regulatory purposes[5], the future EU legislation on European Health Data Space (EHDS)[6], the future Cancer Survivor Smart-Card[7], the cancer use case under the 1+Million Genomes initiative (1+MG)[8], the Cancer Imaging Initiative[9] as well as the European Open Science Cloud[10]. Successful applicants will be asked to liaise with these different initiatives where applicable[11], with the Commission acting as a facilitator..

Objective
The Mission Board of the EU Mission on Cancer has defined Comprehensive Cancer Infrastructures as ‘national or regional infrastructures that provide resources and services to support, improve and integrate cancer care, research, training of care professionals and education for cancer patients, survivors and families/carers.’ Today, the level of development of Comprehensive Cancer Infrastructures and their capacities, such as their digital, research and innovation-related capacities, vary considerably across Member States and Associated Countries, leading to inequalities, in particular in terms of research, quality and access to care.
Eligible Activities
Proposals should address all of the following: The capacity-building programme should be organised over the course of three years, with at least one training session taking place in each Member State and those Associated Countries in the EU network of Comprehensive Cancer Centres, to be established through the Europe’s Beating Cancer Plan. In the planning of the capacitybuilding programme, sufficient time should be allocated to ensure proper follow-up and implementation of the recommendations provided to the participating countries. Each training session shall be tailored to the needs of the participating country. These needs shall be identified and discussed with the participating country prior to the session. This concerns in particular the required participants / stakeholder groups, duly reflecting health and research system specificities. The capacity-building programme should start in countries with no existing Comprehensive Cancer Infrastructure, followed by those with some existing Comprehensive Cancer Infrastructures but needing substantial improvement, and then support the further development of Comprehensive Cancer Infrastructures in countries with an already established system. The training sessions shall consist of balanced theoretical and practical parts, including simulations, case studies, group exercises, mutual learning exercises and on-the-spot visits (when possible) to gather practical experience.

Project results are expected to contribute to the following expected outcomes: Diversification of the bio-based coatings and/or barriers and/or binders, and/or adhesives product portfolio and increase of their range of application. Improved sustainability and circularity when compared with fossil-based state of the art. Improved health and safety profile when compared with fossil-based state of the art.
Eligible Activities
Packaging, construction, agriculture, aquaculture, marine operations, textiles, furniture, wood-based industry and transport are some of the industrial sectors looking for biobased alternatives to fossil-based coatings, barriers, binders, and adhesives. On one side, these sectors need to lower their environmental footprint and improve their health and safety performance; on the other side, they are looking to improve the functionalities of materials benefiting from the huge variety of chemical structures available in biobased materials (e.g., protection, barrier and mechanical characteristics; possibility of adding antimicrobial, anti-odour, anti-scratch, antifouling functions; increasing shelf life of products and food; including biomarkers etc.).

Objective
Successful proposals should contribute to research and development of innovative, sustainable bio-based materials, in the scope of CBE, to improve on the circularity and recyclability of currently used complex structures, such as multi-layered or multi-material structures, including plastics and composites. Bio-based innovations should address a range of end-use applications where there is a priority to identify more sustainable, circular options (e.g., packaging, construction materials, etc.). Projects are therefore expected to contribute to the EU Bioeconomy strategy and its action plan, the Plastics Strategy, the Waste Framework Directive, the Sustainable Products Initiative (SPI) and the Circular Economy Action Plan.
Eligible Activities
Proposals under this topic should: Design and develop novel ‘circular-by-design’ bio-based materials and B2B products, in the scope of CBE JU, as competitive solutions that address the circularity issues of complex materials, while meeting the supply chain and end-use performance requirements. Test the possible associated recycling and/or upcycling options (lab and pilot-scale). The proposed innovations should increase the valorisation of the complex structures after use and move up in the waste hierarchy[3]. Provision for the project integrating ‘safe-and-sustainable-by design’ generic criteria and framework considerations,[5] in line with the EU Chemicals strategy for sustainability. Apply and/or adapt existing/mature or novel digital technologies provided that they are instrumental to achieving the project’s outcomes and scope. Applications of digital technologies that should be considered in the scope are among the following areas: i) chemicals, materials and process design & modelling ii) process monitoring and optimisation and iii) data analytics and data management of the bio-based products in the scope.

Objective
To support scaling up of companies in Europe, the EIC is seeking to build synergies with the wider European startup ecosystem via a second wave of actions under the Commission’s Startup Europe initiative. The actions will act as a catalyst to fulfil the potential of European startups, in delivering market-ready applications and technology solutions that can contribute to the competitiveness and strategic autonomy of EU industry in key technology areas and value chains.
Eligible Activities
Actions will reinforce the activities of the European Innovation Council by targeting digital and deep tech startups that have received support from EIC to support their scale up in Europe. The actions can support also deep tech startups not yet been supported by the EIC, including startups that have already received private investment or EU funding (e.g. under Horizon Europe or the Digital Europe Programme), and raise their awareness of the opportunities on offer from the EIC. It is foreseen that the targeted startup communities will contribute to development of applications that foster climate-neutrality, digital and circular economy, clean industry and user-centric technology development, while also encouraging inclusiveness, and incorporating European social and ethical values. Connecting local digital and deep tech startup ecosystems and supporting crossborder acceleration activities for startups. Among the startups ecosystems to be connected, specific attention will be given to including of ecosystems in Widening countries. Actions should also ensure the integration of startups with the Digital Europe Programme (for example from European Digital Innovation Hubs), the non-EIC parts of Horizon Europe (for example leveraging the Innovation Radar intelligence) and national programmes targeting startups.

Objective
EIC Transition aims at maturing both your technology and business idea thus increasing its technology and market readiness. This topic has no predefined thematic priorities and is open to proposals in any field of science, technology or application. For any chosen field, EIC Transition projects should address, in a balanced way, both technology and market/business development, possibly including iterative learning processes based on early customer or user feedback. These activities should include, subject to the level of maturity of the technology, a suitable mix of research, technology development and validation activities to increase the maturity of the technology beyond proof of principle to viable demonstrators of the technology in the intended field of application (i.e. up to Technology Readiness Level 5 or 6). The activities must in all cases address market readiness towards commercialisation and deployment (market research, business case, prospects for growth, intellectual property protection, competitor analysis etc.) and other relevant aspects of regulation, certification and standardisation, aimed at getting both the technology and the business idea investment-ready.
Eligible Activities
EIC Transition funds innovation activities that go beyond the experimental proof of principle in laboratory. It supports both the maturation and validation of a novel technology from the lab to the relevant application environments (by making use of prototyping, formulation, models, user testing or other validation tests) as well as explorations and development of a sustainable business case and business model towards commercialisation.
Eligible Applicants
A single legal entity established in a Member State or an Associated Country (‘monobeneficiary’) if you are an SME or a research performing organisation (university, research or technology organisation, including teams, individual Principle Investigators and inventors in such institutions who intend to form a spinout company). Larger companies (i.e. which do not qualify as SMEs) are not eligible to apply as a single legal entity; or a small consortium of two independent legal entities from two different Member States or Associated Countries, or a consortium of minimum three and maximum five independent legal entities.

Developing synergies between the EIT Community and European Investment Fund (EIF), by preparing and launching an open innovation platform / investment instrument that will bring together key players (Corporates, Private Venture Capital firms, and public entities), addressing issues such as green cities and sustainable mobility, decarbonisation of industries and power generation, biomanufacturing, food tech, circular economy, technology enablers for green transition, to make investments in innovation start-ups / scale-ups and that will be contributing to the KICs’ financial sustainability. Supporting the implementation of a fullyfledged systemic and structural cooperation between EIT and EIC in the context of the 8 January 2021 signed EIT-EIC Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). Objective
The aim is to provide support for a small group of two to four Principal Investigators to jointly address ambitious research problems that could not be addressed by the individual Principal Investigators and their teams working alone. Synergy projects should enable substantial advances at the frontiers of knowledge, stemming, for example, from the cross-fertilization of scientific fields, from new productive lines of enquiry, or new methods and techniques, including unconventional approaches and investigations at the interface between established disciplines. The transformative research funded by Synergy Grants should have the potential of becoming a benchmark on a global scale. Principal Investigators must demonstrate the ground-breaking nature, ambition and feasibility of their scientific proposal. Principal Investigators must also demonstrate that their group can successfully bring together the scientific elements necessary to address the scope and complexity of the proposed research question. Cost-effective production routes towards bio-based alternatives to fossil-based chemical building blocks

Objective
Successful proposals will contribute to developing bio-based novel dedicated or dropinplatform chemicalswith improved technical and/or environmental performances, contributing to the circularity and carbon neutrality of related systems. Projects are therefore expected to address the EU Bioeconomy Strategy and its action plan, the Chemicals Strategy for Sustainability, the EU industrial strategy, and the upcoming transition pathway for the energy-intensive industries ecosystem (more specifically the ’chemicals transition pathway’). Project results should contribute to the following expected outcomes: Resource- and energy-efficient cascading use of sustainably sourced biomass. Diversification on the range of EU-produced chemicals, while also growing the bio-based chemicals portfolio with high-volume/low cost and/or low volume/high-cost chemicals, depending on application, performance, and functionality. Higher sustainability and competitiveness of the European chemical industry. Reduction of direct emissions (scope 1 and 2) and indirect emissions (scope 3) against available fossil-based and/or bio-based benchmarks of the chemical industry, with a clear technical pathway to carbon neutrality. Public awareness and acceptance of bio-based solutions. Support market uptake growth and acceptance of scalable bio-based solutions.
Eligible Activities
Demonstrate novel or improved production routes for bio-based platform chemicals, within the scope of CBE and reaching the targeted TRL, encompassing different enabling technologies. Assess and prove technoeconomic feasibility for the proposed bio-based platform chemicals, in comparison to fossil-based and/or bio-based benchmarks, where these exist. Apply and/or adapt existing/mature or novel digital technologies, provided that they are instrumental to achieving the project’s outcomes and scope, especially to ensure high standards of resource efficiency and environmental protection. Applications of digital technologies that should be considered in the scope are among the following areas

Objective
The topic aims to establish national roundtables to improve dialogue, co-operation and awareness between key public and private stakeholders and build capacity in order to develop large-scale investment programmes that mobilise private finance for investments in energy efficiency and integrated renewables. The Smart Finance for Smart Buildings initiative had proposed a comprehensive approach based on the more effective use of public funds, aggregation and project development assistance, and de-risking. The Commission is organising conferences and national roundtables in EU Member States through the Sustainable Energy Investment Forums[4] initiative since 2016, in order to roll-out this initiative across Europe.
Eligible Activities
Proposals should set-up national roundtables focused on energy efficiency investments and small-scale integrated renewables, as permanent multilateral discussion forums gathering the relevant stakeholders, including, but not limited to government, local and regional authorities, financial sector, Energy Service Companies (ESCOs), homeowners, industry sector, construction sector and Small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) sector, consumers and citizens associations. The focus of the national roundtables should include energy renovation of existing private and/or public buildings, as well as district heating, investments in SMEs and the tertiary sector. Proposals can target regional levels in addition to the national level if relevant.

Objective
Ecodesign and energy labelling for energy-related products enjoy widespread support by suppliers, retailers, consumers and citizens, but non-compliance with the requirements is a significant and growing concern (e.g. over 70% of products failing to meet the information requirements). Lack of awareness, knowledge or detailed understanding of the legislative provisions by economic operators is one of the likely main reasons, rather than bad will. The objective of this action is to increase visibility to operators of (existing) resources available to help them comply through increased outreach and proactive involvement by relevant stakeholders.
Eligible Activities
To address this, the proposed action(s) should establish a facility combining both reactive and proactive assistance to economic operators through targeted and timely information to increase their awareness, knowledge and understanding of the concerned Regulations. The precise nature of the action is very much left up to the project proposals to define, though attention should be also given to reaching small and medium size suppliers and retailers (e.g., those not engaged in trade associations and/or located in remote areas), for example on regulatory changes concerning new or rescaled energy labels. Actions should cover at least the following and have both a reactive and proactive nature:

Supporting innovative SMEs and project partners (large companies, universities, research organisations and other types of organisations) by funding international collaborative R&D and innovation projects. By participating, organisations can access public funding for international collaborative R&D projects in all fields.
Eligible Activities
The amount of funding your organisation receives when you participate in a project is managed by your national funding body. Funding rules vary from country to country and your national funding body decides: · which organisations can receive funding, · which project activities can be funded and · funding rates and thresholds. Definitions: We define an innovative SME as any SMEs with the ambition to collaborate on R&D and innovation with international partners to develop new products, processes and services for European and global markets. Innovative SMEs do not need to have a proven track record of R&D activities. R&D: “Research and experimental development (R&D) comprise creative and systematic work undertaken in order to increase the stock of knowledge – including knowledge of humankind, culture and society – and to devise new applications of available knowledge.” (OECD Frascati Manual 2015, p. 44) Innovation: “a new or improved product or process (or combination thereof) that differs significantly from the unit’s previous products or processes and that has been made available to potential users (product) or brought into use by the unit (process).” (OECD Oslo Manual 2018, p. 20)

Objective
Alliances for Innovation aim to strengthen Europe’s innovation capacity by boosting innovation through cooperation and flow of knowledge among higher education, vocational education and training (both initial and continuous), and the broader socio-economic environment, including research. They also aim to boost the provision of new skills and address skills mismatches by designing and creating new curricula for higher education (HE) and vocational education and training (VET), supporting the development of a sense of initiative and entrepreneurial mind-sets in the EU. Also, the transition to a circular and greener economy needs to be underpinned by changes to qualifications and national education and training curricula to meet emerging professional needs for green skills and sustainable development. Alliances for Sectoral Cooperation on Skills (implementing the ‘Blueprint’) (European Skills Agenda for sustainable competitiveness, social fairness and resilience: https://ec.europa.eu/social/main.jsp?catId=1223) aim to create new strategic approaches and cooperation for concrete skills development solutions – both in the short and the medium term – in given economic sectors, or in areas implementing a major action of the European Skills Agenda for sustainable competitiveness, social fairness and resilience, the Pact for Skills. The main objective of the Pact is to mobilise and incentivize all relevant stakeholders to take concrete actions for the upskilling and reskilling of the workforce, by pooling efforts and setting up partnerships, also at EU level addressing the needs of the labour market, supporting green and digital transitions as well as national, regional and local skills and growth strategies. Therefore, the deliverables of Alliances for Sectoral Cooperation on Skills, i.e. sectoral skills intelligence, skills strategies, occupational profiles, training programmes, and long-term planning, will be an important contribution to the work of the sectoral partnerships that have joined the Pact for Skills. Alliances for Sectoral Cooperation on Skills seek to tackle skills gaps on the labour market that hamper growth, innovation and competitiveness in specific sectors or areas, aiming both at short term interventions and long term strategies. These Alliances will be implemented in the 14 industrial ecosystems identified in the New Industrial Strategy for Europe (COM/2020/102 final: https://eur-lex.europa.eu/legal-content/EN/ TXT/?uri=CELEX:52020DC0102) (1. Objective
The overall objective of this topic is to develop and support a Europe-wide network of relevant organisations (policymakers, practitioners, researchers, and stakeholders) to promote co-operation, the development and implementation of policy at different governance levels, and to support the Commission's policy work on teachers and school leaders in the context of the European Education Area as outlined above. The specific objectives comprise the following: Create and continuously develop a broad, sustainable and inclusive network to facilitate dialogue and co-operation among experts from policy, research and practice. The network should promote and support evidence-informed policy-making and continuous collaboration among partners in the network and with other relevant stakeholders at international, European, national, regional and local levels, including especially other networks and projects funded through EU programmes; Analyse and co-create knowl-
