Kimberly Vaughan: Cultivating Community and Culture in Mariposa with Immersive Festivals and Events
Kimberly Vaughan, a dynamic and visionary event producer, continues to bring her passion for community and culture to life with her latest immersive endeavors. Known for orchestrating events that unite and inspire, Kimberly has made a significant impact in Mariposa and beyond through her work with the Yosemite Goddess Festival, Sacramento Goddess Festival, and the Yosemite Chivalry & Fantasy Festival. Her journey as an event producer spans nearly two decades, during which she has successfully hosted hundreds of wedding fairs, festivals, fundraisers, and social events, establishing her as a leader in the industry.
As President of the Mariposa Butterfly Festival, Kimberly’s commitment to enriching the local community is evident. She has deep roots in Mariposa, where she resides with her husband and five children—Christian, Charlie, Justice, Hudson, and Merrick. Her connection to the area extends to Yosemite National Park, where she officiates over 30 weddings annually, drawing couples from around the world to this stunning location.
Driven by a love for history and fantasy, Kimberly’s creation of the Yosemite Chivalry & Fantasy Festival allows attendees to step into a world where knights, maidens, and mythical creatures come to life. “Fantasy allows us to explore different aspects of our identity and history in a way that’s both educational and entertaining,” she shares.

Looking ahead, Kimberly is excited to announce plans for another immersive event in Mariposa—Samhain, a Celtic Celebration! This new festival, slated for November 2025, will honor the ancient Celtic traditions surrounding Samhain, offering a deep dive into the cultural and spiritual significance of this sacred time.
“Community events are the lifeblood of our town,” Kimberly explains. “They bring people together, foster connections, and create memories that last a lifetime.” It is this belief that drives her to continue creating spaces where people can gather, celebrate, and grow together.
Kimberly Vaughan’s contributions to Mariposa and the broader community are a testament to her dedication to fostering unity, celebrating culture, and providing platforms for both fun and profound experiences. With plans for future events like Samhain, she continues to build on her legacy of bringing people closer to nature, history, and each other.
